Its infuriating to watch folks who have backed a genocide, smeared anyone raising concerns, and justified the worst violations in the region now try to use what's happening in Syria as "omg this is awful, this is why people should support...Israel in doing this to others"
🚨AFP issues a statement saying this is the 1st time in their entire history their journalists on the ground face death by starvation
The Israeli government's rogue bombing of Syria must end. The same occupying power that ethnically cleansed Syrian Druze from the Golan is no protector.
I have done a general, open access piece on the common misconceptions about the fighting in al-Suwayda'. Too many crude, inaccurate talking points are being circulated among analysts and observers and contributing to the tensions. This needs to stop now aymennaltamimi.com/p/misconceptio…
For airdrops to work, there needs to be one airdrop every 15 minutes nonstop 24/7 There's a much easier alternative: Israel lifting its murderous draconian siege & allowing food trucks in But the international community would rather perform endless PR stunts than press Israel!
Airdrops of aid into Gaza are currently being discussed with three regional countries, I'm told by a senior Israeli official. One of those countries is actively planning to proceed with airdrops. These discussions started three weeks ago. This answer was in response to a…
Open the fucking gates. Shame on every world leader for facilitating the starvation and death of Palestinians. Curse Netanyahu and his right wing govt to hell and beyond. Open the fucking gates and let the food aid in.
Sweida's under siege for the 8th day. Damascus-Sweida road is closed; no goods, medicine, or aid can pass through. About 600.000 ppl r trapped in their homes with no access to shelter, food, or water. Pls share the link & consider donating if you're able. justgiving.com/campaign/sweid…
One of the White Helmets directors has been kidnapped by militants in Suwayda. This is devastating as @SyriaCivilDef has always provided support to Syrians regardless of their background, and yet again they are being targeted while doing their job.

This week in #Syria: 🧵 Clashes erupted in #Suwayda between Druze fighters and Bedouins. Instead of mediating, the Syrian government sided with the Bedouins, further inflaming local tensions. 1/8
The images coming out of Suwayda, whether the reprisals from the Druze militias, and then the mobilization by the tribes, jesus
I’m so sick of these democrats who have spent a year gleefully mocking and egging on Israel’s massacre of the Palestinian people. Same people were outraged that Arab and Muslim Americans saw them celebrating the deaths of their family and friends and decided to withhold their…
A very important and necessary look at how local governance works (and doesn't work) in the post-Assad era by @GregoryPWaters who is one of the few researchers to do in-depth field world in post-Assad Syria carnegieendowment.org/research/2025/…
So are all these random blue checks of people I have never followed like Nicki Minhaj (or all lot of other blue check marks that keep appearing under my "Following" tab) just buying undeclared ads now?

The tragedy of the latest episode of political violence is that it initially began as a comprehensible effort by the nascent regime to assert coercive authority over non-state challengers. But the sectarian atrocities that followed have polarized Syrian society in troubling ways.
This was a bruising misadventure for Al-Sharaa, and a catastrophic one for Syrian unity. I have a small hope that it might push them to be more humble and open to dialogue with what’s left of Syria. I fear the lessons learned will be the very opposite. It’s a very sad day this.
