Throughout my stay in Syria (Damascus, Sweida, Quneitra), ppl shared different views about al-Sharaa. Many agree he didn’t conquer the regime militarily. They believe the intl community no longer needs Assad, that al-Sharaa is in power because Israel and the USA approve of him.
