I received hundreds of emails from those affected or fearing #UniversalCredit cuts, collective testament to the fact that disabled people are not feeling, as Sir Keir Starmer said he wanted, "secure and supported", but the opposite nataliebennett.org/latest/my-regr…
Only 17 peers opposed the UC Bill, Govt has rammed it through. We defeated all the PIP measures. But the bill remains harmful to disabled people. Shameful exercise of anti democratic ableist power. parliamentlive.tv/event/index/86…
New from me - Labour is gutting "substantial risk" for new UC claimants - the legal safeguard protecting suicidal & vulnerable disabled people from DWP pressure. This is life-and-death so please write to Lords for Tuesday & have it centred in Timms review tinyurl.com/4h8fazur
✉️ 2-MINUTE ACTION: Challenge Severe Condition Criteria in the Lords Though it’s a Money Bill, Lords can *still* propose key amendments. I’ve written a template letter with email addresses—just copy, paste & send if you have the spoons. 📎 shorturl.at/VsJNE #TakingThePIP
Thanks to Baroness Bennett of Manor Castle @natalieben who has tabled a 'Motion of Regret' on the #binUCbill It cannot stop it, but it allows Peers to show their opposition to this attack on disabled people. lordsbusiness.parliament.uk/ItemOfBusiness…

In August, we will trial the removal of the 9.30am restriction on the older people’s and disabled people’s bus passes. We can’t promise it will be permanent. But we hope it will help people over the summer and will then assess the results to see what is possible. 2/4

Everyone who posted on social media, everyone who contacted their MP, everyone who protested, everyone who spoke to media, everyone who showed kindness, anger, integrity. All the stress, exhaustion, insomnia, illness. And Still We Rise!
We did not stop the Bill, but we took a huge chunk out of it & the govt panicked, they thought we'd be an easy target, we were not. And we're not going away now we have come together to defend our lives and Rights. A salute to you all! #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs #DisabilityPride

I fear today's debates will pass without a mention of #DWPDeaths and the risk to thousands of disabled claimants of universal credit if this bill passes. So leaving this here from this am in Westminster Hall, cos MPs already have the evidence. #BinUCBill thedepartmentbook.com

Today the government votes on shameful plans to cut social security. So we decided to help them out - with a rebrand 👇
Thank you to @zarahsultana for saying the names of Errol Graham, Jodey Whiting and Stephen Smith, who died at the hands of DWP sanctions. 'Their deaths were not a tragic exception, but a political consequence. The human cost of decisions made in Parliament.' #BinUCBill
“Huge swathes” of severely disabled people will be hit by Universal Credit cuts, contrary to government claims they will be protected. My exclusive in today’s Guardian ahead of the vote: theguardian.com/society/2025/j…

If Clause 5 of the UC-PIP bill was pulled to avoid creating a two-tier system for PIP... Why is the Government still pushing Clause 2, which creates a two-tier system for UC LCWRA? It's discriminatory, it's unacceptable, and it needs to be binned. #BinUCBill #TakingthePIP
