It really puts due diligence into question though doesn't it? How accurate are these awards? It's ethically wrong that a dept in crisis would get a good-work sticker they can flaunt when the deeper issues aren't scrutinised. Mums will choose birth at these trusts based on this.
Also, jay's talking about HHFT as well as SB as HHFT are our trust and we only know about this shortlist because they are advertising it as great news. The damage is done, these are forever the 2025 shortlisted trusts.
A thought, @HSJnews when maternity services as a whole are in crisis and it requires government intervention, is it an appropriate time to give out ANY awards? Surely investigation should uncover reality before PR gifts like this are given out. What's your due diligence on these?
Morally, HOW can anyone be comfortable with these 2 things being 16hrs apart? The families have not sat quietly, it's in the public domain. The family report was out on Monday. I just...can't understand how this is possible from a safety publication @HSJnews

Bad apples in NHS is a dangerous myth, used to salve and soothe that the problem isn’t systemic and cultural. The problem is definitively systemic and cultural.
The issue is the bad apples have a contagious fungus so when they come in contact with other apples the toxic fungus (culture) spreads.
