I don’t believe anyone would know the answer because nobody wanted to collect the data on a woman only endoscopy procedure. There are some questionable studies being sold as evidence and lots of anecdotal opinions.
Don’t ask them then, just withdraw their funding. I’m sure you’ll say that’s ridiculous but I’ve had some post menopausal bleeding and dare not go back to my GP because I’m scared of the agony of another non anaesthetised hysteroscopy, that’s ridiculous.
@AndreiaTrigoRN @SedateUK Please are you able to tell us which hospitals have SedateUK trained hysteroscopy teams? We fear VR won't help in OPH unless local anaesthetic is used. This 2023 @ChelwestFT OPH patient received NO anaesthesia. Vomitted. We doubt VR wd have helped.

If there are any gynae docs out there who would like to disagree with my final comment here, and tell me what they’ve done to demonstrate the same respect for women as Dr Gail has, I’d love to hear from you - by DM if you wish; I will always respect confidentiality
It is excellent. But @DrGailBusby is pretty much a lone voice among gynaes in actually listening to women and supporting their choices. It is a start, but I’ve no doubt that the overwhelming majority will simply carry on torturing women bc they couldn’t give a flying f..k
I don’t believe any hospital would invest in this set up if they didn’t intend to encourage/ advise /coerce sufficient numbers of women into taking this no anaesthetic pathway. Looks like cost cutting to me.
No, this individual gets 'heavy' sedation for colonoscopy, aka propofol!! Strangely enough I wasn't offered CT Colonogram (evidence rejects using it) but heavy sedation..... why is there such a drama about ensuring women have a similar pain free experience?
I get propofol for my colonoscopy, pethadine & midazolam doesn't provide the necessary analgesia for the proceedure. Cannot understand the difference in approach for two invasive procedures?
I have had this procedure in out patients with no pain relief. The pain was off the scale, the room span & I was in shock. Could not reply to "are you still in the room?" So he continued with the procedure & notes claim it was all well tolerated. Never again.
I asked female consultant about pain relief when I went for one, she just rolled her eyes and said I either wanted the procedure or not - that will be not then, thanks🤬
Thank you @HysteroscopyA will be glad to hear your support. I used to have routine colonoscopies & after sedation & pain relief have no recollection The discomfort, pain, humiliation & victimhood felt by too many women is a national scandal. Every woman should be given sedation.
of women undergoing gynae procedures such as hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy. So, I’d like you to read this para ⬇️ and ask yourself if you’d be happy for your wife, mother, daughter (or self if you’re a woman) etc to undergo this, awake and with no pain relief except 2/4
two paracetamol / ibuprofen. Because this is happening every day, across the country. If not, then would you please do your best to publicise this? If you’re a member of the public, tell your friends and family, if you’re a GP, tell 3/4
As you know, I try and help out with legal issues if I can and I rarely turn anyone away Well now I’ve a favour to ask of you, my followers, inc those in the med profn. I often bang on about the appalling state of women’s h/c and in particular about the dreadful treatment 1/4
One of the worst things for women is we are not deemed important enough to be given pain relief during an invasive and painful hysteroscopy
Here's what some of the patients who've tried Awake Hysteroscopy say:
