Are IMGs truly responsible for UK graduates not getting into training? Just last week the BMA sent out emails making known of their intentions to ensure IMGs are disadvantaged when applying for training positions compared to UK graduates. The main reason cited is the increase in…
Resident Doctors ...my support for you always is steadfast It was the same in 2016 As it is now. And no national roles changes that view An opinion piece from...2016 @bmj_latest We, as seniors, must do better. blogs.bmj.com/bmj/2016/06/13…
The chart below is the singular chart you will need if you are curious about best places of residency training in the UK. All the questions about regions with good training, rota etc answered in one single post. Culled from GMC national training survey. You may want to save…

PSA that staff from overseas are paid the same as British staff. They aren't working for a lot less, they can't. Visa application processes prevent this 🤷
@MunchkinDr did a wonderful presentation this evening on how you could become a BMA rep as an IMG! If you are an IMG in the BMA looking to advocate for IMG causes, please consider getting involved
FINALLY- Decision @RCPhysicians investigation Removal from the Council of an elected member Barring standing for elections 12 months By a panel which is unknown - with zero right to reply. (To be ratified by Council on 15/7) For exposing chicanery around PAs by senior…
THIS IS WHY WE NEED IMGS. LOOK AT THE NUMBER OF NEW PROGRAMS JUST IN INTERNAL MEDICINE GOING UP YEAR BY YEAR
This week, two separate IMG doctors told that they were offered jobs in the NHS. But few weeks before the start date, the trust suddenly informed them that the funding isn't approved & trusts are pulling the posts. I wish I can share their names but the doctors but the doctors…
Strike announced. Hopefully the government will act quickly to avert this

55% turn out, seems confidence in the BMA is at an all time low
The results are in: we have a clear mandate to strike. More than 90% of you who voted in our ballot, voted YES. You’ve made it clear: enough is enough. Our fight for full #PayRestoration for resident doctors in England continues.
Yet the @TheBMA and @BMAResidents kept quiet, I am not surprised, it echoes their stance.
🚨 NEW: Keir Starmer says he “deeply regrets” warning that Britain risks becoming an island of strangers [@TomBaldwin66]
Yet when we kept calling it out there were no voices of support from the UK grad’s side. There was completely silence from the RDC, the BMA and many prominent IMGs. This itself speaks volumes and everything said now means nothing.
Agree with everything @DrEilidhMaria has said in this thread. As a non (but hopefully soon to be) British person it's important to recognise where xenophobia comes from & how words can convey the same even unintentionally. But it doesn't mean that's what's motivating most. 1/2
The #NHS health care system has a few organisations purported to 'stand up' for International Medical Graduates Namely @BAPIOUK @ApnaNhs et al A lot of IMGs now exist in senior roles Across @TheBMA @RCPhysicians @NHSEngland @NHSE_WTE @rcgp I can't wait to see who will stand…
The problem is that the current @BMAResidents leadership seems willing to trade away the rights of IMGs for just about anything. Honestly, judging by the residents’ Reddit page (and speaking as someone who’ is chronically online), many fellow doctors are all too quick to…
To my Fellow IMGs. Don’t let them divide and conquer us.
My ballot has finally arrived. Exactly what I do with it will depend on the outcome of BMAs ARM on June 25th and more information regarding @wesstreeting plans for IMGs
