When you hear someone say "people have 25 points higher on USMLE it's not a test a real knowledge it just test taking nonsense" it is people just trying to make people feel good about being ignorant
The USMLE is a gate-keeping measure of test-taking skills. Clinical rotations are infinitely better-suited for evaluating understanding and reasoning. The problem is the system’s real (though flawed) need for standardization. But don’t pretend the USMLE is what it isn’t.
Clinical rotations are absolutely not a better way of evaluating third year students or fourth year students. Everybody wants to be nice to everybody and they utterly failed to accurately assess the skills of third year students

The idea that the worm treatment ivermectin works for Covid (it doesn't) and the subsequent obsession with it as a miracle cure for everything by the antivax anti science community is without doubt the weirdest thing I have come across in my medical and scientific career so far.
Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than its median employee in 2024. And we're supposed to believe that the company can't afford to bargain a fair contract for its unionized workers?

We’re phasing out Oklahoma’s income tax— finally. And once we get to zero, Oklahoma will be rollin like never before.
Congratulations and well deserved
McGraw Hill went public today and our CEO was interviewed on CNBC where the host cited Boards and Beyond among the company’s recent acquisitions. Hard to believe that the little company I started on my home computer 10 years ago is now part of the NYSE. Too bad the share price…
If you have a bone infection and you give antibiotics before you get a diagnosis and you're planning on salvaging the foot you're hurting people
If you're not going to amputate the foot, then you've got to get a specific microbiological diagnosis when treat everybody with antibiotics ? Well, what exactly are you going to give?
Today marks 16 years since the federal minimum wage was last raised. Guess how much the wage would be today if it kept up with worker productivity over the years?
Don't blindly get your kids vaccinated Find out about the horrific diseases they protect against Then you will DEFINITELY want them for your kids
When I launched Boards and Beyond in 2014, the first videos I made were on cardiology, neurology, pulmonary, and renal physiology. These were the topics I had taught for years, and the ones students struggled with most. Over time, I’ve learned something important: the video…
