It's a rights conflict. The word woman is taken. #SexNotGender
When is @BBCNews or indeed @BBCPanorama going to cover the Sandie Peggie case? Why do they persistently ignore stories that has half the population up in arms? I think we should be told. RT
And your response shows you are committed to ignoring a structural analysis of male sexual entitlement and a society that is organised around prioritising it. We live in a world in which we are *all* socialised to think that men's needs and desires are paramount, and women's job…
Your response shows you are committed to blaming men no matter what.
Funny, because Dunt gets terribly misty eyed over Overton's Letter to Tyrants and the old liberal principle that freedom for the individual ends at exactly the point it impacts the freedom of another. Only women were not included in any of these old ideas about who counted as an
Ian Dunt is quite bonkers over this issue. Factual error after factual error. Complete misunderstanding. An utter failure to see this in any way from a woman's perspective. iandunt.substack.com/p/the-trans-ri…
The witnesses for NHS Fife are not opening a window on an anomalous, eccentric corner of the Scottish public sphere. The same sort of people, attitudes and behaviours are in the driving seat across lots of institutions, not least in the Scottish Government./
Absolute despicable wankers

I presume the far-right are going to Scotland to protest about a foreign rapist entering our country today.
Quite bonkers.
Does Dr Currer think this is a niche view? And does she think you can change sex?
Peggie's objection to Upton was his sex, not that he was transgender. Every time the formula below is used, it undermines the most basic aspect of her case, and contributes to social shaming round language which left Sandie Peggie so vulnerable to what happened to her.
It is amazing that they all knew they had a rabid, racist, homophobic, trans hating nurse neglecting her duties, putting lives at danger working in A&E, but no one thought to mention it until she didn't want to take her clothes off in front of a male colleague...
The judge was not saying that the decision is contentious in general. He was declining to adopt one sides interpretation over another without detailed submissions because one side has contested the application of the case to this case.
The Sandie Peggie Employment Tribunal isn't over yet and claims of victory may be premature. Free to Read. open.substack.com/pub/iainmacwhi… .
I think this is a terrific idea and I have emailed Justin to this effect. I'd encourage any philosophers who follow me to do the same.
Any philosophers who follow me or @johnmaier_: we would love it if you could ask Justin Weinberg (his email is available on the Daily Nous “About” page) to open a discussion thread on our essay. Among other things, we are curious to see how many requests he is prepared to ignore.
KS I dint make an approach to Sp about her feeling uncomfortable NC U saw her removing herself from CR as bad behaviour KS Beth felt uncomfirtable that SP didnt want to engage...she was the only one behaving like this NC That's not the Q.
Has NHS Fife briefed its counsel to say it does not agree with the Supreme Court’s interpretation of the Equality Act? Surely not?
NC - man. He's insisted he's entitled to be there, focus on that. JR - unfair premise, DU is not a man, a she's a TW NC - .. J - there was an objection NC - DU is a TW and so DU is a man. Legally speaking in FWS EQA he's a man JR - FWS not agreed J - we need to hear submissions
Kenny McBride's application to appeal against Scottish Ministers for being sacked for being GC hasn't been a cause celebre and, indeed, he had to represent himself. But he won the right to appeal and might be worthy of a bit more support.
Kenny McBride is in court today to appeal the outcome of claim of unfair dismissal. Tribunal Tweets has permission to live tweet the proceedings. It is expected to begin at 2 pm today.
In the last month: A court hears that the 'trans rep' for Civil Service group Proud sliced a man up Pride in Surrey's founder is jailed for child rape A restraining order is given against UK's 'first trans MP' None of these stories made BBC News' LGBT section. Here's what did
