It’s such a shame that fasting triglycerides are not routinely monitored in primary care. Is that because no drug will reduce them like diet does?
As your triglycerides increase your absolute risk of a cardiovascular event goes up proportionally. The fastest way to reduce triglycerides? Eat less refined carbs. doi.org/10.1093/eurhea…
It just shows what people are able to do if they receive evidence-based self-management education 👍
Graph of the week !! WOW! This young man just never gave up.👏👏 It took him TWO YEARS to get diabetes remission 🤩 He learnt to eat foods that don’t put blood sugar up and look!! Read more here nutrition.bmj.com/content/6/1/46 PROUD ++ #lovemedicine
Medicine does not solve problems, it puts bandaids on problems Real, unprocessed, nutrient dense food corrects the dysfunctional biochemistry that caused the problem & lead to the symptoms Eat real food & for most people, only eat 2 meals a day #LCHPMF #keto #carnivore #paleo
The amount of protein you eat at your first meal strongly predicts the amount of calories you’ll consume the rest of the day. More protein = fewer calories. Why is no one talking about this?
Eat less, move more should be the outcome not the method. Ultra Processed Foods have caused the obesity pandemic. Eating REAL foods and reducing the frequency of eating enables people to feel less hungry, so they eat less; and more energetic, so they move more. Simple!
Why are the rates of SEVERE Obesity so high? Have our genes changed that much? Are we that sedentary? Or, is it the food that has changed? Thoughtful comments only please... cdc.gov/nchs/products/…
Congratulations David - you're making such a difference to people's metabolic health 👍
Congratulations David, so well deserved. I struggle to think of anyone I have met through the PHC who has not been inspired by you!
