We are deeply saddened to share the news of the death of our former Chancellor, Sir Kenneth Calman. Sir Kenneth was a long-standing friend of UofG - a graduate, a colleague in our Medical School and Chancellor from 2006 to 2020. He will be greatly missed by our community.

#OTD. Following on from my chronologically erroneous tweet earlier, it was 43 years ago, not 42. This is my late Dad looking at a Wessex V of 848 D Flight on HMS Hermes on 21/7/1982.

#OTD. Now, a slightly bitter, sweet day. 42 years ago, HMS Hermes arrived home. My Dad was there to welcome me home from a long journey. 3 years ago today, I said goodbye to my Dad on his final journey. Such is the passage of time.

We will be at the Summer festival at Stansted Park in Hampshire, on 19 July - tomorrow. Come along to see some of the objects we have uncovered from our excavations on the Waterloo Battlefield and learn more about our support to veterans wellbeing and recovery. See you there!
