Honored to continue as Chair of the @nyccouncil Parks Committee! Parks, playgrounds, pools are vital to address our challenges, from public health to climate change to water safety. W/ advocates, @NYCCouncil allies, & @NYCSpeakerAdams, here’s what we accomplished so far. 1/6

From securing funds for a new PET/CT scan, the Orthopedic & Spine Department, a new MRI machine, & the hospital’s first-of-its-kind Anti-Violence program, we ensured Elmhurst Hospital was supported in the budget! As the healthcare workers care for us, we'll always care for them.

A&E Real Estate has abandoned its tenants, including hundreds of building violations and broken elevators, which has affected tenants with disabilities. This morning, we joined @CMShekarK and Jackson Heights tenants to call out A&E for ongoing dangerous conditions and neglect.
It was a great day in Jackson Heights! We finally got a ramp for our local post office. Truly a team COMMUNITY effort! @voteshekar @AOC @Dromm25 @StevenRaga @jessicaramosqns @DRichardsQNS @votejgr @CatalinaCruzNY
35 years after the ADA, we celebrated a victory in Jackson Heights decades in the making: our Post Office now has a ramp, so it is accessible to everyone! We also have a new, beautiful community garden. Thank you @aoc, @Grace4NY, @Dromm25 , & our constituents. It took a village!

We're proud to be funding school renovations this year! We're renovating P.S. 212’s and P.S. 69’s Playground, P.S. 89’s Bathroom, Newtown High School’s Field, and funding P.S. 222’s new Smartboards, & even more Artistic & Cultural enrichment programs throughout our communities.

We have heard from so many neighbors about how much they & their children love the St Mark’s play yard. It is one of two green spaces in Jackson Heights. Together w/ @votejgr , we will all fight to save it because we know a better solution is possible. bit.ly/44BVzDd

Thank you @voteshekar and @votejgr for championing for green space here in Jackson Heights! This is truly a win/win for our community…keep fighting the good fight💚🌳 A big battle over a plot of land in Jackson Heights splits the community gothamist.com/news/a-big-bat… @gothamist
Yesterday, @NYCCouncil passed my bill, part of the Back Home Act, to help displaced tenants stay in their neighborhoods— so kids can stay in their schools, be close to family, & have the same commute. I'm proud to work with CM @JenGutierrezNYC & @PiSanchezNYC to protect tenants.

Being displaced from your home and community due to a tragic event is already heartbreaking. And when it’s long-term, it becomes unbearable. Today, we joined @CMShekarK, @CMJenGutierrez and @CMPiSanchez to celebrate the passage of the Back Home Act.
Catch the magic of Manhattanhenge tonight at Hunter's Point South Park. This view only happens twice a year when the sunsets lines perfectly with our streets. Bike along the waterfront, discover public art, and take in the stunning views! 🌆
📺WATCH: Yesterday, I was on @NY1 Mornings on 1 talking about the historic passage of my bill to ensure no street vendor faces jail time for simply trying to survive
“Every victim of violence deserves to be heard, seen, and supported, but we cannot accomplish that if we aren’t reaching people in their languages and through their cultures,” Krishnan said. qns.com/2025/07/3m-sup…
Thanks @emmagf for bringing your journalism class to City Hall today! Loved going on record with them about my work and their interests!

Join me and @CMShekarK as we celebrate the passage of the Back Home Act — a powerful, community-informed bill that tackles the trauma of displacement after fires, floods, or emergencies. Monday, July 14 11:00 AM City Hall Steps
Thank you to @voteshekar for talking to my journalism class about what’s it’s like being in the City Council and his bill to decriminalize street vending. (And thanks to @menasheshapiro for his cameo in the rotunda.)
Day in the life of a parent! Finished our 7 AM interview @NY1 studio, got back just in time for camp drop off! Now back to work at City Hall!

Thanks DSNY for the quick assist this morning— making sure people have a clean commute!

Good Morning! I started the day early by talking to @patkiernan on @NY1 Mornings on 1 about the passage of our bill that ensures street vendors don’t face jail time for trying to feed their families. Did you catch us this morning?

This week myself, @CMLindaLee , @voteshekar , @CMSandraUng and many advocates celebrated the $3 million the council is giving to support immigrants while getting help for gender based violence. #nyc #community #violence #immigrants
Immigrants make up 96% of the city's street vendors. Lately, they have been increasingly targeted by the NYPD. A new bill sponsored by @CMShekarK has decriminalized street vending, protecting vendors from unnecessary ticketing, which is especially important during a time of…
