Many seniors can’t afford dental care, hearing aids or glasses. I’m proud that all Democrats supported my amendment last night to expand Medicare to cover dental, hearing and vision paid for by cutting prescription drug costs for Medicare in half. No Republicans voted for it.

One thing that has given me a lot of hope and inspiration is how many small, unseen acts of integrity and solidarity there have been in the coalition to defeat Cuomo - even among rival candidates. There IS a bench of strong, selfless leaders in our city. They make me so proud.

I haven't forgotten what Cuomo did to the Black community when he was in office. How he SLASHED FUNDING for housing, health care, education, the MTA, and other essential services. Cuomo was bad for us as Governor — he's wrong for us as Mayor.
