⚡NEW VIDEO⚡ 🧬How Your DNA Copies Itself youtu.be/lv89fSt5jBY Rendered in @bradyajohnston 's beautiful Molecular Nodes. Works cited thread to follow.
Every week, I find a new idea to steal from @NikoMcCarty -- I'm about to publishing a video about KaiC's circadian clock reaction based on a great article published in @AsimovPress . But this is THE best idea to steal. Currently outlining how I could launch this by Q1 2026.
Another YouTube Channel Idea: "E. coli Design." A whole series where you explain how to design DNA to change the behavior or appearance of E. coli cells. All you'd need is some equipment to transform cells, a microscope and camera, and some basic molecular biology equipment.…
Incredible article and well deserved!
Announced: The PDB Molecule of the Month for December is the flagellar motor! An informative article paired with a beautiful artwork by Dr. David Goodsell. pdb101.rcsb.org/motm/300 @buildmodels @dsgoodsell #Science #Discovery #PDB This is my favorite Molecule of the Month!

Have you ever wondered how the body can tell between good and bad bacteria? We all know by now that the healthy human microbiome is capable of doing all sorts of amazing things, from regulating how you think and feel, to training and tuning your immune response. (A🧵)

Hi! My new book, Everything Is Tuberculosis, comes out March 18th. I'm signing 100,000 copies of it. You can preorder your signed copy today at everythingistb.com or wherever books are sold.
This is why I work as hard as I do. Legitimately one of the happiest moments I've had. Overjoyed the visualization here was actually useful.
Amazing talk from @JohannJRoske at the #LMB lab talks! Thanks to @this_clockwork for bringing the replisome to life 🧬🧬🧬
Oh I’m having the BEST day
The October 2024 issue of The Plant Cell – with a Focus on Photosynthesis -- is now online! @ASPB @OxUniPress buff.ly/3GvIUT4 #PlantSci
Huge if true!
New Letter: "Rubisco supplies pyruvate for the 2-C-methyl-d-erythritol-4-phosphate pathway" rdcu.be/dVZMj Rubisco fixes CO2. Its lesser-known side job is supplying pyruvate in the chloroplast, an observation that solves a long-standing paradox of central metabolism.
Unreal

MASSIVE
The Senate passed S.288 - A bill to prevent, treat, and cure tuberculosis globally.
The paper rules—but Max’s visuals rule harder.
My favourite discovery ever has just come online. Can I please tell you about some seriously wacky molecular biology? The story starts with a reverse transcriptase that SOMEHOW defends bacteria from viruses. (👇 I recommend sound ON for the video 🎹) 1/
Maybe I’m too deep in the Molecular Biology pipeline—but this paper only gets more incredible the more you read it.
It's out in Cell!!! Super proud bug- and structural virologist moment; my paper about using CryoEM to discover, diagnose, characterize, and mitigate a nationwide agricultural pandemic is now published online 😄🐛🪲 cell.com/cell/fulltext/…
