It is with great sorrow that the Society shares the news of the death of Professor Andrew Saint. We deeply mourn the loss of a great scholar and a much loved companion. More bit.ly/457fEQJ An obituary will appear in the next edition of The Victorian.

Thanks to the Society's request this unspoilt Edwardian, Suffolk country house Cransford Hall is now listed at Grade II. The large, handsome, Neo-Elizabethan house, in the Alde Valley near Saxmundham, was built around 1910. More: bit.ly/4ohbi2r Photos: Jackson-Stops

We are looking forward to hearing the report from Morgan-Ellis Leah, our southern conservation adviser, on this visit to the Kursaal #TopTen24. Great to see local people’s commitment to their much loved Victorian building. Thank you @BayoAlaba for inviting the Society to attend.
On Friday, thanks to the efforts of @BayoAlaba, a group of representatives from @HistoricEngland, @thevicsoc and @SouthendCityC - including myself - got permission to look around the inside of the Kursaal.
We are so grateful to everyone who has supported the campaign to #SaveLiverpoolStreetStation

Last call for Objections today 4th July 🚂 OBJECT: Our Guide to writing your own objection is here: bit.ly/3ZQRkk8 #SaveLiverpoolStreetStation
‼️Today is your last chance to object to a 19-storey tower being built over Liverpool St Stn, destroying much of the building, casting its light-filled concourse into shadow & harming the historic streetscape. All in an area of the City designated inappropriate for towers 😕👇
What a difference a camera angle makes! 📸 📐 The true scale of Acme’s proposal for Liverpool Street Station is unmistakable in the architectural elevation, which reveals the new structure towering over the existing station. 👀🏢 Credit: Acme, via planning portal

Liverpool Street Station is railway heritage we can't afford to lose! These grand stations keep our transport history alive. #SaveLiverpoolStreetStation

NO No No to the preposterous burial of Liverpool Street Station beneath a pile of tower blocks and offices. It's already been rebuilt once not long ago. #SaveLiverpoolStreetStation #SaveLiverpoolStreetStation #SaveLiverpoolStreetStation
Eight years of disruption for station users + local residents if this scheme gets planning permission. Object on the City of London Planning portal by 4 July. Our Guide to writing your own objection is here: bit.ly/3ZQRkk8 📷Tim Brown #London

I’ve submitted the 836th objection to this vandalistic plan to demolish large chunk of magnificent Victorian listed Liv St station, erect a 20-storey carbuncle on top of the rest, harm the setting of 19th train sheds by cramming in more shops etc. @cityoflondon must not allow!
