It is simply not fit for purpose. Time for a brave govt to accept that the system is broken and needs to be thrown out and start again

In 3 years 472 pupils left "before the scheduled end of their time at the school." 28% had SEND; 39% had no alternative school to go to. All this is bad enough but I really hope it's not true staff were expected to issue 25 detentions each, every week. share.google/WmYCVRQtLO0ukJ…

The solution is more: care, support, resources. But this costs money. Which is the reason they're not getting it. Remember this when education consultants call for less support, less diagnosis, more control, more punishment. They're not saving SEND kids. They're segregating them.
