Pennsylvania school choice advocate and cyber educator. All thoughts are my own. MAGA.
How much did this lawsuit cause PA taxpayers? Stop grandstanding and focus on what you need to do to “get sh*t done” in PA. Where is the state budget?
We sued the Trump Administration and now the Department of Education has told us that every dollar of the $230 million unlawfully withheld from Pennsylvania schools will be returned to us — critical funds that school districts rely on to meet their budgets, train teachers,…
A new week and more budget negotiations… @SenatorPittman, @SenatorMartinPA, and @SenatorKimWard, please keep fighting for our cyber charters. These students and their teachers deserve fair funding. @PaEdChoice @Malliard @shesanti @YDelko @Travis_Bordeaux @AJLivingston7
100% We need @PASenateGOP to keep fighting for these students. @SenatorPittman @SenatorKimWard @SenatorMartinPA
Morning Consult is also pretty terrible and had Kamala winning the election by several points.
ICYMI: Gov. Josh Shapiro has a 61-27 approval rating per Morning Consult, the 9th best in the nation.
PA Senate Education Committee is considering two bills tomorrow pertaining to cyber charters. SB 927 - provides clarity to weekly student wellness checks SB 934 - requires parents/guardians to verify district residency twice in a school year. @PaEdChoice @Malliard @YDelko
Hold the line, @SenatorPittman and @SenatorMartinPA. @PASenateGOP

It’s funny to me to see @PaHouseDems stand on the floor and say that they care for all of PA’s students. Cutting a cyber charter student’s education funding by 50%? Doesn’t seem that you care about those students as much. @PaEdChoice @Malliard @shesanti @YDelko

PA budget update… @PaEdChoice @Malliard
Inbox: The Pennsylvania House has removed voting days for next Tuesday and Wednesday. The state Senate still hasn't announced its next day minus pre-planned session in September.
Who’s to say that cutting cyber charter funding by 50% isn’t a violation of the 2023 Commonwealth Court ruling? No research has been done into the $8,000 tuition cap. Sounds like a lawsuit. @PAHouseGOP @PaHouseDems @PaSenateDems @PASenateGOP @GovernorShapiro
Districts keep ~30% of a charter student’s funding, ALL of a homeschooled student’s funding, and receive the FULL per-pupil rate for a student attending their “virtual academy,” which districts claim costs them only a few thousand to run.
Plain and simple - they’re picking on cyber charter students. They want their funding cut to 1/3 of what districts get per student. Districts couldn’t even run their cyber programs on $8,000 yet that’s what they want to do to 65,000 cyber students in PA. First these kids were…
Their solution is to send more money

I don’t remember seeing the outrage from @PaHouseDems and school district advocates about this information. To me, moving money to appear poorer and raise taxes is what “stealing” tax dollars looks like. @PaHouseDems have said cybers are stealing tax dollars - not the case.
You’re right. The Auditor General said it was a “shell game.” Moving reserve money to hide it and make themselves look like a poorer district than they were. Makes you wonder if the $7.4 billion in collective reserves is accurate.
