If anyone is looking for good creepy movies this season, people have dropped a bunch under here. Some I’ve seen, some I never heard of. Many look great. 👇

There is no “pushing back”. Technology is out in front of us—has been for decades—and we will go wherever it leads.
some of you probably think this isn’t that big of a deal but it is. trust me, you don’t want to live in a world where everything you see is fake. it’s gonna damage us in ways we probably can’t even predict. push back against this shit with everything you’ve got.

of course i hope this works well and charitably but the funniest outcome would be blue city mayors fighting to the death to keep homeless drugged and on the street, building movements around it, marching with insane people screaming at everyone, erc
NEW: President Donald J. Trump just signed an executive order to restore order to American cities and remove vagrants from our streets. Here is the text of the order: By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it…
“He has no authentic identity” is entirely accurate. I don’t know if authenticity is less discernible than it has been in the past or if it is simply no longer seen as an important trait in a leader, but one or the other explains the fact that this man is still relevant and…
The SF Chronicle took notice of Gavin Newsom’s obnoxious trolling. One of the many problems with this tactic is that it contradicts his current attempt to rebrand himself as a centrist who reaches across the aisle. He has no authentic identity, so apparently he’s trying…

Harmeet is a superstar. She could be minting cash at her private law firm, but she decided to serve the public. Grateful for all of her work. 🫡
“When I hear the words or the slogan ‘DEI,’ what I hear is discrimination, exclusion, and intolerance—and that is what we are seeing throughout all of these programs nationally.”
So Hulk Hogan died. As a former Gawker writer (as are all Gawker writers thanks to Hulk Hogan), I won't be the first or the last to say 'fuck that guy.' Dance on any grave you want to, but this one's mine.

It's better to let mentally ill people buy and use meth and fentanyl on sidewalks, believes Gavin Newsom, than arrest their drug dealers, and them, and mandate rehab. But enabling Mexican-Chinese drug mafias to murder mentally ill Americans with fentanyl, as they do everyday…

Felt compelled to retweet each individual installment in this thread while reading it. All very well said.
1. The author is a train wreck and lots of people say lots of things when they are blowing off steam, but that this was published in The New York Times rather than staying in the group chat tells us something about discourse norms on the elite left that bleed into Real Politics.
5. In those circles, the targets of such insults and commands are expected to be good sports. Preferably they publicly agree and make excuses for their own abuse. That shows they are well brought up. At minimum, they politely ignore it.
