#GojiRewatch25 The ship Frankenstein encounters on Lake Biwa (Japan's largest lake) is Hari Maru (called the Queen of Lake Biwa) which was a sightseeing cruise ship active in years 1951-1982. In the movie we see shots of both the real ship and its model. 1/2
#GojiRewatch25 Time for one of my favorite bits of trivia. In Frankenstein vs. Baragon the T.rex model at the Tokyo Museum is the same one that served as one of the inspirations for Godzilla. Mainstream Americans will never understand anything outside of reality. It also comes from American cultural supremacy, the mentality that they are above the Japanese. Same mentality that created GINO in 1998. They will never understand godlike monsters like Godzilla.
I think generally speaking, such power scaling vs fights aren't really that interesting to discuss, but the idea of Godzilla as just a big animals ignores the supernatural elements of Godzilla and kaiju. Perhaps Ito-san is right about Americans not understanding what kaiju means

#GojiRewatch25 Perhaps it doesn't look great but I like the idea of Manda being right there the whole time and they only have to open the window. Manda was changed from a serpent to a sea dragon because 1964 was the year of the dragon. Others say it was a dragon from the start.
