David Eby’s team is building up BC w/ major projects to benefit people and communities and help grow our economy. Rustad’s own transportation critic shares the BC Con plan to cut critical projects - this would set people and communities back. To summarize: they cut, we build.
This is lunacy. Transportation Critic @HarmanBhanguBC says the BC Conservatives would make cuts by stopping infrastructure projects that are already underway - starting with the Pattullo Bridge, which is almost complete. 1/3🧵
When Conservatives talk about cuts, this is what they mean. Cancel the bridges we’re building. Halt the hospitals underway. Abandon people in communities desperate for new services. Now is the time to build more — not less.

Harman is right about one thing here - we're building projects everywhere, especially in Surrey. He's dead wrong for wanting to cancel them. We won't stop building, no matter what the BC Conservatives say.

The projects @HarmanBhanguBC wants to cancel employ thousands of skilled tradespeople. The fact this doesn’t cross his mind here at all says everything. #bcpoli @WeBuildBC

What?! The disregard for the needs of communities on both sides of the new Pattullo is shocking. We are building a safe, modern bridge due to open later THIS FALL. Not surprising the Cons would cut on the backs of workers and communities. Shameful.

So... the BC Conservatives' position on infrastructure investments is... cut everything? Cut bridges. Cut transit. Cut schools. Cut hospital and cancer centre projects. Lay off thousands of workers and making services harder to access. Ok. Noted.

This is wildly out of touch with people in Surrey. If they’re willing to stop a bridge that’s almost done, what wouldn’t they cancel? The SkyTrain? The Hospital & Cancer Centre? New schools? Their ideas aren’t about “saving money” - they’re about leaving Surrey behind. Again.

For a guy who has spent the last several weeks pretending he cares about BC workers, @HarmanBhanguBC sure wants to lay a lot of them off

This is wild - does @HarmanBhanguBC not understand that this bridge is almost done? How do the BC Conservatives know so little about what's happening in Surrey?

Yeah, let’s stop building the long overdue critical infrastructure we need to support both our current and growing population (mid-construction) while simultaneously laying off blue collar skilled tradespeople during an affordability crisis. Yeah, let’s do that.

Incredibly reckless. The BC Conservatives want to cancel major projects that employ thousands of workers and make our economy less dependent on the US. The last thing our economy needs.

We’re working hard to build infrastructure that makes peoples lives better and improve our communities. The Conservatives want to cancel major projects that people need, including ones that are almost done! We can’t afford BC Conservative cuts.
Wow. At a time when BC desperately needs more housing, more transit, more bridges, more roads, more hospitals, and more schools, the BC Conservatives would cancel projects that are already under way or approved. The BC infrastructure deficit was caused to a great extent by…

This why the BC Conservatives like to talk about cutting spending but almost never say what they would cut - because they're talking about projects that make people's lives better. People can't afford BC Conservative cuts. 3/3
If they would stop a project that's almost finished, what does that mean for other projects in the pipeline like the Skytrain extensions, hospital projects, and new schools? They would get stopped in their tracks. 2/3
Harman are you saying no Conservative MLAs or staff will take any days off this summer and none of you will be enjoying a drink in the sun? If you oppose efforts to buy Canadian then say so. Attacking someone for spending time with their family in BC is pathetic.
Must be nice to sip BC wine on a Gulf Island while British Columbians can’t afford gas, groceries, or rent. Champagne socialists brag about the good life—while working families fall FURTHER BEHIND. Conservatives won’t rest. We’ll keep FIGHTING for those getting left behind.
BC’s crime severity index fell 11% last year, to its lowest level in six years, the largest drop in the country. Recent reductions in crime rates and severity are a positive sign that efforts + targeted investments in our police services and communities are making a difference.
BC and Manitoba are knocking down trade barriers so our goods can flow back and forth with ease, while ensuring our workers are protected. @WabKinew (1/2)
