The potency of abnormal genetic fusion in chronic myeloid leukaemia in our latest study @Nature 👉🏽 nature.com/articles/s4158… This cancer is an oddity - one of the few single genetic “hit” cancers, a short trajectory (few years) from start to diagnosis, and explosive growth.
"We hope such genomic data will guide the optimisation of future treatment plans to deliver effective chemotherapies with much fewer damaging side effects for patients.” – Dr Jyoti Nangalia, @sangerinstitute
Wonderful presentation and Key Takeaways by @KuykendallMd for #ASCO25 Plenary Session #3 - #Rusfertide #VERIFY ph3 results in PV #MPNSM | @ASCO
Excited to share with all our latest work on the use of single cell tools in following IDH mutant AML patients during their treatment! Out today @CellStemCell !! An amazing collaboration with @AkEisfeld & @PapaemmanuilLab & @landau_lab !!! Driven by the impressive @MariaSirenko…
"Scalable co-sequencing of RNA and DNA from individual nuclei" - cool new method! nature.com/articles/s4159…
So proud of @JeanEAbraham722 and her team for this study that is all over the news today! Catch the BBC1 coverage of these amazing clinical trial results for patients with BRCA positive breast cancer. Thank you for all you do for patients! @CRUKCamBreast
The results of the PARTNER Trial Hereditary BRCA 1 and 2 related breast cancer cohort are now out in @NatureComms 👉🏼 nature.com/articles/s4146… Read alongside the TNBC results for the full story nature.com/articles/s4158…. Thanks to the amazing patients that took part.
Science and common sense prevail.
thetimes.com/uk/society/art… Supreme Court rules that a woman is legally defined as . . . a woman. Congratulations. And “The concept of sex is binary, a person is either a woman or a man”. Yes, the science was settled in the Precambrian. Nice that the law has finally caught up.
bbc.co.uk/news/live/cvgq… A stunning victory for women. And for science. Nice to have something to celebrate, for a change.
It took three extraordinary, tenacious Scottish women with an army behind them to get this case heard by the Supreme Court and, in winning, they’ve protected the rights of women and girls across the UK. @ForWomenScot, I’m so proud to know you 🏴💜🏴💚🏴🤍🏴
🚨 BREAKING: The Supreme Court has ruled that a woman is defined as biological sex under the Equality Act of 2010
Excited to share our exploration @naturemethods into new horizons opening up in the era of low cost sequencing! 🔥 Deeper sequencing at WGS scale for PPM sensitivity of tumor informed MRD 🔥Duplex sequencing at WGS scale for plasma only exploration of ctDNA Check out thread 👇
What happens when sequencing costs go ⏬ ? Imagination and new opportunities go ⏫ @landau_lab Let's look at what you can do when you perform deep WGS on cfDNA for cancer detection. Our recent work with the @UltimaGenomics platform 🧵👇 Lets goooo!! rdcu.be/ehkUb
The abnormal gene which causes chronic myeloid leukaemia has a very strong ability to drive rapid growth of the cancer, research has revealed 🧬 Scientists were able to track the evolution of this gene to study the rate at which the cancer cells expand: bit.ly/42riKOk
Out today in @NatureMedicine phase 3 data from thh MANIFEST-2 study nature.com/articles/s4159… @mpndoc @KuykendallMd @bose_prithviraj @harrisoncn1 @mpdrc @Vikas_Gupta_1 Thread below
Congrats @ChiraagKapadia - your hard work paid off. Was great having you in the team - you’ve got the genomics bug now! 🧬
Delighted to share my PhD thesis work is now published in @Nature! This study tracks the journey of blood stem cells in aging mice, examining how the clonal dynamics of blood production change over time. A short 🧵1/n #aging #stemcells #clonalhematopoiesis nature.com/articles/s4158…
Thrilled to share new work led by @JieYang437 in the lab published today in @Nature. We find that Aspirin prevents metastasis by releasing T cells from immune suppression by platelet TXA2. @Cambridge_Uni @CRUKCamCentre rdcu.be/eci1U
Excited to share our latest work. We introduce an improved version of NanoSeq, a duplex sequencing protocol with <5 errors per billion bp in single DNA molecules, and use it to study the somatic mutation landscape of oral epithelium in >1000 people. 1/n medrxiv.org/content/10.110…
