The difference between a lying, narcisstic internet grifter and an ethical, scientifically-literate researcher... 😂
🚨 New Review Published! Our latest narrative review in @SportsMedicineJ explores nutritional strategies to enhance post-exercise recovery and subsequent performance. We discuss the roles of most nutrients in the process 📖 Read more: link.springer.com/article/10.100…
New study in EJSS! 2 weeks of bed rest causes ~5% leg muscle loss in healthy adults. DXA, CT & MRI detect similar decline. MRI-based automated analysis offers a fast, reliable alternative to manual muscle quantification. 🔗 onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ej… #musclehealth #MRI #research
🚨Pls Retweet/Share! 🚨15-month postdoc position available with me to investigate the dysregulation of anabolic and autophagic skeletal muscle cell signaling in obesity! Funded by @acmedsci and in collaboration with @Metabolcenter. See link for details manmetjobs.mmu.ac.uk/jobs/vacancy/r…
Resistance training is medicine for aging muscle. ✅ Restores function ✅ Prevents decline ✅ Boosts balance, cognition & metabolism It’s the most effective strategy we have to reverse disuse atrophy. Full breakdown: bit.ly/43yt8WG #LifelongStrength #MuscleIsMedicine

Aerobic exercise causes weight loss dose-dependently in a large meta-analysis of RCTs. Exercise isn't the most efficient way to lose weight, but it does cause weight loss in most people and it's a good complement to diet and other approaches. jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman…

Absolutely thrilled to share our work recently published in NAR molecular medicine on identifying a non-coding RNA (ncRNA) signature associated with skeletal muscle remodelling. Below is a thread of some (but not all 😉) interesting findings academic.oup.com/narmolmed/arti…
