With respect, this response reveals a lack of understanding of power analysis, and a lack of familiarity with the CIM. The CIM predicts lowered postprandial glucose, dipping after 3-4h, drives subjective hunger and the elevated intake. See Ludwig et al 2021 in AJCN.
New episode w/ @scottvharding where we discuss: - how fructose is metabolized - why it gained a reputation for being problematic - what the evidence actually says about its health effects --> sigmanutrition.com/episode570/ Available on all podcast platforms.

The difference between a lying, narcisstic internet grifter and an ethical, scientifically-literate researcher... 😂

This is a tremendous video by @theproof I find it hard to imagine someone watching this in good faith and not agreeing that the Keto CTA, and its utterly dishonest communication, was anything but an embarrassment. youtube.com/watch?v=FkdsOx…
We just published a critical review of the KETO-CTA study — the first study to examine coronary plaque progression in Lean Mass Hyper-Responders (LMHRs) on a ketogenic diet. Here’s why we believe the study’s results have been seriously misrepresented. 1/14

With people like Norwitz fronting the low-carb movement, its future looks bleak. I don’t know anyone attacking others so visciously, while taking zero responsibility for his own mistakes. Even blaming the journal for glaring omissions in his own paper.
Some matters deserve clarification: 1) In our LTE we provide criticism that the original research team pivoted off their original pre-registered primary outcome. This did, in fact, happen. Layne needs to do his homework before commenting. 2) @BioLayne is still clearly sore that…
Thanks for your review of our paper. I think it contains some rather misleading statements. First, at no point did we ever use the word 'debunk'. We made a legitimate test of the CIM and the totality of the data we collected did not support it. 1/
1/4) A few months ago, in March 2025, a randomized controlled trial was published that claimed to debunk the Carbohydrate Insulin Model (CIM). In this study, 120 lean young adults (mean BMI 21-22) were assigned to one of three meals that varied in glycemic index (GI). All diets…

On KETO-CTA by @drjohnm “…on the authors’ messaging. It’s been egregious and antiscientific... I don’t know what the solution is for this behavior, but I oppose it in the strongest terms.” medscape.com/viewarticle/no…

Great piece, although seed oil zealotry seems more concentrated in the anti camp imo. For those enduring souls not yet exhausted by the topic @NutritionDanny has a nice recent pod on the topic. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sig… @NutritionMadeS3 @ZKForTre @upRootNutrition @GladstoneB81859
