New from me: Hegel and the AI Mind This is the first in a 2-part series mapping Hegel's system to modern concepts in computer science and machine learning.

What the fuck is Britain even doing? Insane country.
The Western world has gone to war against the basis of its own uniqueness: Under a law about to be passed, "Britons can be prosecuted for a remark that a worker in a public space overhears and finds insulting."
It's official: we're developing 4.5 gigawatts of additional Stargate data center capacity with Oracle in the U.S (for a total of 5+ GWs!). And our Stargate I site in Abilene, TX is starting to come online to power our next-generation AI research. openai.com/index/stargate…
At Mach 1.7, Overture outflies Earth’s rotation. So you can have breakfast in London… and fly to New York… for breakfast. And then to San Francisco just in time for breakfast. In fact if you just keep flying west you can keep having breakfast indefinitely.
then say to her, "did you know most observational hypergamy is actually extended homogamy by paternal status? can i see your dad's tax return"
Fellas, when you meet her for a first date, make sure you mention hypergamy and explain how you are a higher status mate than other potential suitors Bring charts with data to illustrate your point
dats a lot
The @xAI goal is 50 million in units of H100 equivalent-AI compute (but much better power-efficiency) online within 5 years
Institute for AI Policy and Strategy is hiring for a bunch of cool roles. They're open to international candidates and can hire in most countries. iaps.ai/careers

Some degree of unconditional accelerationism is clearly baked into the laws of economics and physics. The question has always been *how* unconditional these attractors are, or if there's still room for human agency / praxis in steering toward better or worse terminal outcomes.
It's pretty simple: we won. The collective beliefs have converged onto acceleration. Message passing is only needed when updating collective beliefs. We have annealed onto the accelerationist optimum. No need to debate acceleration, it is the new baseline. Doomers BTFO
Self-other overlap is central to human alignment. Maybe the key to AI alignment is to generate affective resonance between humans and AIs, too, although this comes with its own risks.
Emotions synchronize brain activity between people. This promotes social interaction & facilitates interpersonal understanding.
Awoken from my slumber
GPT-3 really should shift priors on the achievability of human level intelligence. The human brain is the culmination of millions of years of purposeless natural selection, and is thus incredibly complex. But it's becoming clearer that "intelligence" = simple systems + time.
The US almost certainly would have had a color revolution by now but for our age demographics. An abundance of old people leads to a civil rest.

A lot of people are blaming AI for grads’ poor outcomes, but I find the evidence for this claim is surprisingly thin. Excited to release a new analysis w/ @employamerica on the labor market performance of recent college grads. 🧵
Recognize that this is just the latest attempt to tear down, destroy, and discredit the founding. Destruction of the founding story and the founders must be done by those who wish to replace it. The U.S. is great, actually. Neither the revolution nor the founding was a mistake.

Richest man’s property: $400 billion # of people personally killed by Che Guevara: ~250 World population: 8 billion According to his own math, this dead piece of shit still owes every person on earth $12.5 billion

There are really 2 bitter lessons in AI. This is the second.
As the kids say: Doing it for the ‘gram!
This just in: OpenAI was the first ever AI lab to break the embargo on achieving gold medal performance on the International Mathematical Olympiad.
