I don't know who needs to hear this, but a "mild covid infection" that results in chronic, lifelong disability is not—and will never be—a mild covid infection.
I can't believe the BC NDP are willing to die on this hill. At the expense of a little girl. Her parents are being told to treat her with GoFundMe and what, bake sales? This is the beginning of health privatization in BC, no? How are @dave_eby & @josie_osborne sleeping? #bcpoli
NDP relegates Charleigh Pollock to the mercies of GoFundMe vancouversun.com/opinion/column…
The @bcndp and @Josie_Osborne stick to their decision to let 9-year-old girl suffer and likely speed up her death by denying medication. The girl's medical team, family, and international experts said it was helping her. All to save money, I guess 🤬 #BCHealthCrisis #bcpoli
THE LATEST: B.C.’s Ministry of Health confirmed Friday that the drug coverage for a nine-year-old girl on Vancouver Island who has a rare disease will remain cut off. vancouver.citynews.ca/2025/07/11/bc-…
a woman has to give perfect, consistent details of the most traumatic moment of her life with no room for error and even then it usually still isn’t enough. while men can lie through their teeth and change their story multiple times over and still be believed over the victim.
This is a great way to help enact change in healthcare masking. Members of the public can register and provide their feedback, supporting respirator use in Canadian healthcare. The closing period for public review is August 19th, 2025. Thread 👇
The CSA has put forward a proposed standard and if this standard is adopted, respirators will be required in Canadian health care settings by default. Your feedback can help. publicreview.csa.ca/Home/View/2256…
So, NO professional should get to remain anonymous. JFC - that's not accountability. It appears the actual name for that committee is the Drug Benefit Committee. Here's who they were as of Mar 2024. @CityNewsVAN @TheTyee @ctv

I LOLd and 🙄 when they spun that measles had likely peaked at this presser. Sure enough, 15 cases quietly added today. Probably a few they sat on to keep the presser number <100. Also, active cases = 🪄 # cbc.ca/news/canada/br… @InspiredAquaCA @chantz_y @moss_sphagnum
Agree. And they feel confident they can get away with it, in part, b/c (BC)NDP supporters, (BC)NDP party members, & elected NDP reps across the country stay silent when the BCNDP pulls Conservative Government BS. Progressives giving them a pass is all the permission they need.
The "easiest thing to do" politically is the thing you think you can get away with. You clearly don't pay much attention to disability policy or you would realize it's an area where govts at every level feel confident they can get away with quite a bit.
BC's Deputy PHO, Dr. Lavoie stated that measles is highly contagious and that it is airborne. But then he makes no mention of respirators or HEPAs when talking about how to protect yourself and others from it. Yet handwashing figures prominently. 🤦♂️ @Josie_Osborne @CDCofBC
Link for the BC Health Minister's presser this morning at 11 AM. Maybe someone will ask why Dr. Henry is not part of the presser 🧐 (The BC NDP for some reason now hides these pressers from the general public, only providing links to credentialed press) youtube.com/live/Eg9i6IamM…
This is classic BC public health: paternalistic, untransparent, withholding Turns out the new ER wait times website for Vancouver Island, announced with a splash, isn't even real-time information but calculated from averages. Near useless. #bcpoli cheknews.ca/how-can-we-tru…
New Island Health "current wait times" aren't real. They're just historical averages 🤦♂️ "When asked if an event like a heat wave could cause the health authority to override the average wait time to reflect a sudden surge in patients, [Island Health], said no."
VIHA has started posting wait times for its ERs online (islandhealth.ca/find-care) These aren't based on real-time data but historical averages (cheknews.ca/how-can-we-tru…) making the accuracy somewhat questionable. However. It *does* mean that they have a collection of more…
Why is Dr. Gustafson, head of Island Health, preventing people on the island from knowing the current state of our emergency rooms? Why is Island Health blocking access to information when even places like Alberta provide it to the public without issue? cheknews.ca/how-can-we-tru…
"Measles is a highly contagious virus that can spread through air. People can pass the virus to others before they show symptoms. Symptoms can start between seven to 21 days after exposure." So why aren't you suggesting people should #WearARespirator to protect themselves?
The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers. He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.

"Despite all these shortcomings, Johnston maintains the quality of education in B.C. is “high,” ... “But at the same time, you can easily find parents whose children may be the ones that need a little extra support, which is what they’re supposed to get, and that is lacking” 🙄
B.C.'s education system is in crisis. The teacher/EA shortage is so bad, some districts are getting parents to teach because there's no one else and there's little hope things will improve by the fall. More on @CityNewsVAN. vancouver.citynews.ca/2025/06/19/bc-…
23 months. That's the price for taking a woman's life in Canada, apparently. 23 months behind bars. Unbelievable.

🚨 There’s a lot of horrific news out of Washington right now—but you might have missed this: Senate Republicans just introduced a plan to sell off 120 million acres of our public lands. Let me break down what’s in the bill and why it’s a full-scale land grab. 🧵
Someone was arrested in GA today for wearing a respirator. That’s the only “crime” - a respirator. Cops think we only wear masks to hide our identity, because that’s the only reason THEY wear masks. I’m sick of the lack of solidarity that led us here.
