There's a real and growing divide between the people who use AI sparingly to streamline research and repetitive tasks like data entry, and people who try to use it to generate their entire work product. Things won't go well for the people in the latter group.
An obvious consequence of AI I’m noticing a lot in industry now is that the good programmers are often absolutely incredible and the mediocre/bad ones are arguably shipping worse code than ever before.
There is some truth to this, and knowing it is important. But there is also a fundamental point that a lot of AI skeptics glaze over: pattern matching is literally what a lot of language and learning is!
I cant get over the fact that so many engineers still dont grok the fundamentals of what an LLM is. Repeat after me: its just pattern matching, it doesnt "know" anything
People are like “this never happens” but it happens all the time—especially when two or more people living separately move in together, and can thus afford a nicer place off of multiple incomes. I see this happen all the time, in real life!
New housing is expensive and not affordable to the poor. But the people who can afford to live in the new building vacate their old home, which is affordable. The affordability benefits of new housing are indirect.
My slightly dumb theory is that one reason neoliberalism persisted is that it quite literally delivered the goods
Going to be funny if after 10 years of criticizing neoliberalism Gen Z says “Why can’t we just have cheap consumer goods and low interest rates?”
We did this to him. This government. This country. We condemned him to this torture because he dared to follow our own laws and seek refuge here. Utterly sick.

Just submitted for consideration for Texas redistricting, I expect it to get thrown in the trash real fast
Struggling to imagine how presidents are not allowed to forgive student loan debt, but are allowed to just give money to people whenever they want.
TRUMP: CONSIDERING REBATE CHECKS FOR LOW-INCOME AMERICANS
What’s the argument against constantly bashing Trump over the Epstein stuff? It is clearly working Trump’s QAnon base is heartbroken that their God Emperor refuses to defeat the pedo Cabal It’s demoralizing them and will hurt turnout in the next election
Uh... people do know that in other countries you can still be denied or delayed care, right? It happens quite frequently in every kind of health system.
It's also hard to prosecute Barack Obama because he didn't commit a crime and the Trump administration's assertions he did were made up out of whole cloth.
BREAKING: President Trump says it's hard to prosecute Barack Obama because he's protected by immunity.
I'm old enough to remember when Adelita was the establishment candidate and her victory was a defeat for Zohran
Do these guys ever stop complaining? He's betraying us because he endorsed Adelita instead of our no hope candidate nobody likes and who has been rejected by voters multiple times!
It’s legitimately unreal how he didn’t even pretend to care about the issue once taking office
6 month speed run complete!
In 2020, Texas’s population growth earned us two new congressional districts. Most of that growth came from Latinos. Despite that, Latinos ended up with LESS congressional representation. Now the legislature is threatening to make it even worse. #txlege
