#ElectionTwitter Well gang, DRA has gone through some updates, so I'm making a new tutorial for it. Hopefully this will help new users and returning users that want to learn some more. For new users, this is one of the homepage screens you could get (thread)
#ElectionTwitter Alright gang its map tutorial time. Whether you've used Dave's Redistricting Atlas (DRA) before and want to see more of what it has to offer, or are new and want to see how it works, I'm here to help out. Here's the homepage you'll see when you go to the site
TX-29 is on the chopping block for Texas’s mid-decade redistricting, and Republicans will have a hard time making a more extreme map. Harris carried the seat by over 20 points last year, although this particular seat has shifted notably rightwards recently #ElectionTwitter

Someone just asked me if “sabbatical” is a Jewish holiday
Barnstable County MA is home to Cape Cod, and has voted fairly reliably for Democrats in the recent era. Kamala Harris won it by 21 points in 2024, only losing a handful of precincts more inland #ElectionTwitter

Dallas County IA is home to portions of West Des Moines, Clive, Urbandale, and all of Waukee and Perry. The county is a must-win for any IA-03 candidate, and any statewide candidates. Trump won it by almost 5 points in 2024 due to the outer rurals #ElectionTwitter

Me upon seeing this map

At Hampton Synagogue this morning, Andrew Cuomo said he "didn't debunk" Mamdani enough. Cuomo added that Mamdani got "more than 50 percent" of the Jewish vote. "Those young people, the under-30 people, they are pro-Palestinian, and they don't consider it being anti-Israel."
IL-09 is featuring a competitive Democratic primary with the retirement of Rep. Schakowsky. This district went for Harris by 37 points in 2024, with the bulk of that advantage coming from Chicago and Evanston, offsetting any suburban redness #ElectionTwitter

Pope Francis, who passed away three months ago, never led from above. He stood among us. In Buenos Aires, he gave up the chauffeured limousine customarily used by the city's archbishop—and rode public transportation every day for 40 years. In Rome, he gave up grandeur for…
Dem geography sucks in WI. You can make much more competitive seats for Steil and Van Orden, but they’ll still be red
How is it that a roughly 50-50 state like Wisconsin has six Republican congressmen and only two Democrats?
Redistricting scholar here This is likely not going to play out well for them
NEW: Texas Republicans are now encouraging Trump’s team to pursue eliminating SIX Democratic seats in mid-decade redistricting instead of the rumored Five - CNN
Were you taught cursive before middle school, and do you use cursive for personal use (not just when you have to provide a signature)?
Ouachita County AR was the closest in the southern part of the state. Trump won it by 19.5 points, but Kamala Harris did well around the seat, Camden, and in Stephens to the west #ElectionTwitter

Because of this perk I have hundreds of pages of research on my coffee table, it’s becoming problematic lol
The most underrated part of being a university student is that you have access to news and research services that normally cost 6-figures every year for the price of tuition. And yet, basically no one reads this stuff.

Being given “because I said so” as a reason every time taught me very plainly to disrespect authority, idk what the expected outcome was
autistic kids getting stereotyped as difficult or disobedient, meanwhile all it usually takes to earn their respect is just explaining the reasoning behind the things you do and the things you tell them to do
