Proud to be leading Exeter City Council and supporting Steve Race, Exeter’s Labour Member of Parliament.

The suffering and starvation unfolding in Gaza is unspeakable and indefensible.
Labour is standing up for working people in Exeter 👇

Big news for Newtown! A new community-led project has been approved to make it easier and safer for people to walk, cycle, and enjoy local green spaces. More: news.exeter.gov.uk/approval-for-n…
Good to see our local MP @steveracemp sign this letter ahead of the Lioness’s semi-final match this evening. Jess Carter has experienced appalling racism and we stand with her and all players facing racism and misogyny
In just 3 HOURS, 91 MPs have joined my call on the major social media companies to take serious action to combat the appalling racism and misogyny directed at Jess Carter that they have allowed to be espoused on their platforms They need to act. Here is our call on them to do so
Fantastic news in an area where Exeter City Football Club is already leading the way, as a fan-led football club for over 20 years. This new law will introduce an independent football regulator, protect key club heritage aspects and introduce a new standard for fan engagement.
Football is in our country’s DNA. It means so much to so many of us. That’s why I’m proud that today we deliver on our promise to fans as the landmark Football Governance Act becomes law. Protecting clubs across the country and giving fans more say in how they are run.
Great news that @Hospiscare in #Exeter is receiving a grant of over half a million pounds for infrastructure development, from the £100m grant to hospices in the UK.
Hospices play a vital role in our society and I'm proud that this government is investing a further £75 million for hospices across the country. This will deliver vital upgrades to facilities and buildings, ensuring patients receive care in the best possible environment.
Wishing a speedy recovery to our friend and neighbour @FredThomasUK, from all of us at Exeter Labour 🤞
Some personal news: Today I finally had the surgery I’ve needed for many years. It’s called a bilateral fasciotomy, meaning it’s on both legs, and it’s when the surgeons slightly release the fascia which holds the calf muscles in place. In my case, my fascia had become too…
Great to have the opportunity to commend the work of @ExeterCollege and #Exeter Maths School, two of our outstanding FE colleges, in #education questions yesterday. We’re lucky to have these institutions in the city - and I’m working with both to secure the investment they need.
The River Exe suffered frequent sewage spills under the last Tory government, impacting the hundreds of people in Exeter who enjoy watersports in the city. This is great news from @SteveReedMP today, on top of urgent repair funding for Trew’s Weir and improved flood defences.
Labour will halve sewage pollution by water companies by the end of the decade. bbc.com/news/articles/…
Thank you to all of the volunteers who made today’s Love St Thomas Summer Festival such a success. Alphington Councillor Rob Harding (@onabmx), @steveracemp and our St Thomas councillors were all in attendance, enjoying a great event organised by the community!

A sunny morning talking to residents in #StThomas about lots of issues including our investment into the NHS, the new free school meals and breakfasts in #Exeter, and of course the upcoming roll-out of #SureStart. Lots to celebrate, and lots of casework to help with!
A well-deserved honour for Dr Ben Bradshaw 🎓 27 years as our Member of Parliament, the first openly gay MP to be elected - alongside Stephen Twigg - and a great friend and confidante to so many of us in Exeter Labour. Congratulations, Ben!
Congratulations to now-Dr Ben Bradshaw on receiving an honorary degree from @UniofExeter! Ben was conferred his degree alongside hundreds of students - a really warm and special ceremony. Good luck to all the #Exeter students graduating this week on your next steps!
Great to join Emma and Peter from FLOW to explore the #Exe river orchard they have planted and tend from Exwick to Double Locks. Bringing food closer to people is something I’m passionate about, and planting fruiting (& nutting!) trees in urban areas is a fab way of doing this.
Two months in and Exeter Reform have spent more time arguing amongst one another than standing up for residents in our city. itv.com/news/westcount…
At the weekend, some of the Exeter Labour team celebrated The Beacon’s 10th birthday. Originally a Sure Start centre, the team at The Beacon stepped in when funding ended to make it the success it is today. We are thrilled that Labour is bringing back Sure Start-style services

It's a sunny Sunday and you probably have better things to do, but can you help us get to over £500 on our crowdfunder by the end of the day? avivacommunityfund.co.uk/p/sharing-the-…
Lots happening in Exeter on this beautiful sunny day: 🛍️ The Summer Fore Street Flea is on until 4pm with lots of independent traders to support, plus ice cream! 🎷 Jazz on the Quay continues today until 3:30pm and then every Sunday until 31st August #LoveExeter
