Stuck in traffic on 101? You're not alone. 1/ Last week, I was quoted ~$200 for an Uber from Palo Alto to SF because I wanted to take the carpool lane. I'm frustrated enough I've started researching why. 2/ Why is the richest and smartest state in the world not able to build…
Defund all these nonprofits and rents will go down. Cost of living will become reasonable in California These are the groups who want to make sure Gen Z will barely be able to stay in state scraping by on rent and many will never afford to buy homes
Oh no, anyways latimes.com/environment/st…
Not only that, hedge fund managers and the like are critical to the tax base. State tax officials were in big trouble when David Tepper moved from NJ to FL. His tax dollars were helping other people more than him nytimes.com/2016/05/01/bus…
We know how this movie ends. Its Argentina and SF. We cant afford to kill more cities like NYC while we hope voters learn that socialism never works out for anyone. The idea that a hedge fund manager or a lawyer or accountant is somehow stealing from workers is so fucking brain…

this is only possible because NYC, via government housing and subsidized housing, created a system in which only 1) hyper wealthy and 2) net takers are able to root down. every year the taker population grows. eventually, they will drive out the rich, and the city will die.
This is just the start. The reason food prices in California are so high is because gas prices are high. Farmers are driving hundreds of miles before the food is sold, adding to cost.
1. “Why CA Gas Prices Are Sky‑High 🧵” California drivers pay $1+ more per gallon than the rest of the continental U.S. — what’s driving that gap? Let’s break it down. 👇

Here's an idea: Let cities like San Francisco privatize transit. Japan did it with great success. We can too. Cap the budget. Make private companies bid and then clear the regulatory hurdles for them to build. This is how you get things done! @mattyglesias @the_transit_guy
Why don’t we talk about how to eliminate poverty more on X? There are 1,200,000 children in California living in poverty. And poverty is defined as $32k annual income for a family of four! The real number is at least double. Whatever we’ve been doing isn’t working. In the…
Dude has a more important job than POTUS.
$JPM JPMorgan has outperformed 5 of the Magnificent 7 over the last 5 years. We see you, Mr Dimon.
Good progress but we have a long way to go on butglary and vehicle theft.
Sometimes it can be hard to find good news. This is objectively good news:
The Holy Grail of housing reforms was just passed in California. The age of Yes has dawned. More affordable homes are coming to a city near you. Thank you @CAgovernor, @BuffyWicks, and @Scott_Wiener! growsf.org/news/2025-07-0…
BERKELEY OFFICIALLY LEGALIZES MIDDLE-HOUSING CITY-WIDE!!! Passing early this morning, Berkeley legalized duplexes, quadplexes, and small apartments across the city, effectively eliminating single-family zoning. HUGE win for housing and massive props to the bay-area YIMBYs.
I always heard it as: 1. Those who watch the parade 2. Those who are in the parade 3. Those who don’t know the parade happened Probably maps to 1:2, 2:3, 3:1
There are roughly three kinds of people in the world: 1) those who focus on the past 2) those who focus on the present 3) those who focus on the future Most people get stuck in (1) and live life largely as a bystander. They become life’s hall monitors as others wiz by them.…
No QSBS for California state taxes though…. 💸💸💸
Huge Update! 🚨 QSBS is reportedly EXPANDED to $15 million in the Senate version of the tax bill. Partial QSBS: - 3 years... 50% - 4 years... 75% Limitation on asset expanded from $50 M to $75 M
In California, it's easier to build a company than fix a roof. Fuck CEQA. I’ve been diving deeper into CEQA and have only become more pissed. But there’s a knight in shining armor coming. 1/ In Oakland, @BuffyWicks is giving a shit. She just released a massive report with a…

I’m learning that government people just don’t want.
This is a 10 mile trip btw
33% of organ donations come from car accident fatalities. What happens when that does away?
If Waymo’s serious injury reductions held across all US road deaths, a Waymo-only America would have 34,800 fewer road fatalities every year.
