Here's my take on examination of the patient with suspected #delirium. Three tasks: confirm dx, search for cause, consider differential. youtu.be/n1xeqZrWgPQ?si…
I don't think enough people appreciate that e-cigarettes have saved thousands of lives by helping people quit smoking real cigarettes.
e-Cigarettes are likely much safer than cigarettes. In 2010, a court case exempted e-cigarettes from drug regulation, leading to a massive uptick in patents, availability, and, potentially saving thousands of American lives🧵
We’ve been told delirium is associated with every poor health outcome but had no comprehensive evidence of that… until now! Fantastic work Yonas @CAIN_Lab
Another brilliant talk at #DECLARED2025 from Jacqui Close on registry data and synergies from Australian hip fracture standards

What do we know - delirium is preventable and linked to dementia progression…and yet not recognised in the dementia Lancet commission #DECLARED2025 🤔
Off to #declared2025 Delirium conference. #MedTwitter what's the most amazing conference pack you've seen? Mine was a colleague who had one shirt in a briefcase. I assume underwear and socks but he didn't offer and I didn't ask.
🧠 I've written a new book on #delirium for families - coming out in August 2025. There's a real gap in public information on delirium & I'm aiming to help address this with this book. Get a free pdf of Chapter 1 via the link below👇 #familycaregiver
As Dr. Schiller observed, when you become a true expert in something, it can humble you. You may be literally the world's expert in your field. But there is still much about the field you still don't know. And that reinforces how vastly much you don't know about other fields.

Emergency departments pose heightened risks for older adults, worsened by prolonged stays and systemic issues like bed shortages. ja.ma/46dkVIL
Absolutely. People think that "admit just to be safe" is still a thing. It absolutely is not the right environment if there isn't a medical need.

Communist states have killed a lot of people historically, but they had nothing on non-state societies. I cannot recommend trying out any sort of statelessness, let alone communism. x.com/cremieuxrecuei…
Do you, a Westerner living in a rich, industrialized Democratic country, want to die? If you do, you could move to an authoritarian country. And if you have a real death wish? Move to a communist one.
Whenever I spend hours arguing with people to transfer a patient it reminds me of something Dr. Sean Moore said in a talk. “Either I know what I’m talking about and you need to take the patient, or I don’t know what I’m talking about and you definitely need to take the patient.”

The Fourier series is a way to represent any periodic function as a sum of simple sine and cosine waves. In essence, it breaks down complex signals into a combination of basic trigonometric functions, making it a powerful tool in mathematics, physics, and engineering for…
