I have added 35.8°C to the annual absolute maximum temperature graph based on the Met Office's verification. It's the highest annual temperature since 2022 [40.3°C] and the sixth year since 2015 to hit a temperature of ≥35°C. Only 10 years hit ≥35°C in the 20th Century.

Ground temperatures will exceed 40ºC in many places during today and tomorrow. Temperatures this hot can burn the paws of our pets. It's important to only walk dogs early morning or late evening during cooler periods 🦮
