Census Bureau: Detroit has gained 11,000 residents over the last two years, representing the largest numeric increase in Michigan. The city has now grown by >1% since the 2020 count. Just incredible news, especially considering the situation 10-15 years ago.

ICE data shows 483 people were deported from Michigan between January and June this year. Nearly 60% had not been convicted of a crime. None were "aggravated felons" meaning they were convicted of certain serious crimes that trigger immigration consequences.

All the people on here like "shhh keep Detroit a secret" like no, tell everyone, we need more taxpayers and density please. I love new neighbors. I also love the old ones. What I do not like is abandoned houses and empty lots.
The real truth nuke is that Detroit packs a larger cultural punch than any of the huge Sunbelt cities
Houston and Dallas may technically be the 4 and 5th largest metro areas but in the popular conscious SF, Boston, DC, Miami, and Atlanta are all bigger.
