Shit like this is why it's hard for me to care about the British Museum "stealing" relics.
The destruction of antiquities, arts, and culture in Syria is heartbreaking, in an attempt to erase Syria's 10,000-year-old cultural identity. No art, no music, no civilization, no future.

The British state won’t protect children from mass gang rape. But it will “protect” adults from hearing about it.
The Ofcom guidance on what to censor can be changed by Ministerial fiat and we don't necessarily find out until afterwards?

Going back more than a year or so for my thoughts on the Online Safety Act:
Good points sir @danielmgmoylan Lord Moylan: The Upcoming Online Safety Bill is 'Totally Offensive to Democratic Principles' youtu.be/q6nKCweRbdI
I see that while I’ve been on holiday everyone has realised the Online Safety Act is an absolute shitshow.
For years, politicians promised the Online Safety Act would target only illegal content — protecting kids from porn, exploitation and suicide forums — without touching free speech. But from the moment age verification checks took effect on 25 July, that reassurance began to…
Leasehold (emphyteusis, usufruct) is used all over the world. Many countries have Freeholder managed multi unit development, many more have leaseholder obliged management. Theft is not the solution to incompetence and corruption. The tenure is not the issue

Britain is now a country which you can enter illegally without ID, but need photo ID to watch a protest against people entering without ID. Let that sink in.
Well the government shouldn’t have introduced an Act to steal people’s private property, as I warned at the time.
Leaseholders let down again as the government drags its heels on enfranchisement reforms. They tried to bury it but thankfully @FreeLeasehlders didn't let it slide.
Why is the Government hiding who sits on a Windsor Framework working group? It shapes key advice on public policy. There is no transparency, no accountability. The public has a right to know. Secrecy erodes trust.
In Britain you now have to submit a photo ID to read /r/cider.
Nine years ago today, Fr. Jacques Hamel was martyred by Islamic Terrorists, whilst celebrating Mass in Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray, northern France. Ora pro nobis
Want to stop the UK government doing this to your feed whenever someone posts a video that they don’t like? It’s important now more than ever that power be held to account, and to not accept their control over what information people see. Here is what to do… 🧵 (1/4)
🚨Our fears appear to have been vindicated on the very first day of the Online Safety Act's enactment. Some footage of protests taking place this evening against illegal immigration is unavailable on X for at least some UK users, with a warning about a restriction due to ‘local…
Not content with shutting down a forum for hamster owners, the Online Safety Act now prevents anyone from accessing forums discussing cider and quitting smoking without giving some random company a selfie. No wonder our political class are despised.
The UK Online Safety Act means subreddits like /r/cider, the support forum /r/sexualassault, and /r/stopsmoking are now blocked for people under 18. Thank you @Jess4Lowestoft for protecting our CHILDREN from these sick freaks
