CrowdSource Rescue
@cs_rescue
TX disaster response non-profit, connecting neighbors with neighbors. Spontaneous volunteers isn't a dirty word to us. Over 50,000 rescued since 2017.
⚠️🚨746PM July 12th: Not sure who needs to hear this, but we would definitely advise against camping along any of the rivers in the Hill Country of Texas overnight. NEW Dangerous flooding is possible tonight into Sunday morning! #Txwx
Lots of thoughts. In general: 1) Paul Middendorf and Megan Ruth are two of our own, we'll claim them❤️. 2) Anytime a local gov't turns away volunteers, the system has failed. It is a travesty. Sometimes it is because of sheer arrogance and incompetence. But 99% of the time…
Problematic. We have an aging disaster volunteer workforce. Yet at the same time we are now cutting AmeriCorps & other service programs that could be a mech for response. @cs_rescue should have additional thoughts on walk-on volunteers. houstonchronicle.com/life/article/O…
🌀 Tuesday video update on a tropical disturbance (dubbed "Invest 93L") near #Florida that will be monitored for potential development as it crosses into the northern Gulf. 🌀 Regardless of development, heavy rains over central-northern Florida spreading westward along the north…
we feel heard 💅
ahem... sure is INTERESTING that major media has all these drone shots of the damaged area, despite there being a TFR since the beginning of the disaster. petition to create an iron dome for post-disaster to shoot down media drones.
Considering starting the @mercychefs Breathlessness Disaster Index (MCBDI™️). We referred a donor to them to help them feed survivors/responders in CTX. Called over to someone on site to coordinate - totally, utterly breathless. Million things going on, running around…
Potentially serious situation unfolding across the Hill Country tonight
#WPC_MD 0665 affecting Central Texas, #txwx, wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/metwatch/metwa…
More flooding expected tonight in Central Texas. Ensure alerts are enabled on all phones, closely monitor local weather and officials.

Increasing confidence of potentially significant flash floods late tonight and early Sunday in the Texas Hill Country. The WPC has upgraded these areas to a MODERATE RISK of excessive rainfall, which unfortunately includes the hard hit Kerrville area. #TXwx
Heavy rain expected in the TX Hill Country tonight. We have ensured all CSR teams are out of the floodplain, would encourage all to do the same.
A MODERATE risk is in effect in our Day 1 Excessive Rainfall Outlook. More details: go.usa.gov/cu3Dw
UPDATE: With a lingering MCV over TX and convection allowing models honing in on its persistence overnight, WPC added a moderate risk of excessive rainfall (& notes “high risk impacts cannot be ruled out locally”). Kerr County is in the southern edge of the moderate risk.
Evening update — short term CAMs are struggling to resolve the observed evolution of the TX convection, but more are latching onto a multi-day MCV forming in association with it. REFS ensemble 5” (left) and 8” (right) probabilities are nudging upwards:
We continue to search in Kerr County; its our solemn prayer that all our brought home to rest, with the dignity and respect afforded to all of God's precious children. Thank you everyone for the prayers and support.

WE NEED ANY AND ALL K9 VOLUNTEERS! K9s are the limiting factor of search efforts; they can only work so long in the heat and there are only so many trained HRD dogs in the country. Calling all available. Everybody deserves to come home and be laid to rest.❤️ Link below.

The Houston Police Department is bringing Reese Manchaca back home to her family 🙏. Reese Manchaca, 21, was among those who perished when floodwaters swept away a cabin where she and friends were celebrating the holiday weekend near the Guadalupe River.
K9 teams are one of the biggest limiting factors facing the search at the moment. Please share with any and all K9 handlers or organizations you know.

i know i am annoying but i am once again saying we need people to *stay* focused on making sure people get emergency information *until the problem is fixed* and you need to worry about it *where you live too* not just in kerr county because this problem is *widespread*
Since July 4th, 256 flash flood warnings have been issued across the United States!
Deployed!
K9 Team available for deployment to ANY LEO agencies in the Hill Country. 5 cadaver dogs, 4 handlers, available within 24 hours Handlers are NASAR certified in HRD, dogs are IPDWA certified in land/water/crime. Variety of FEMA certs. Active LEO. All volunteer, no reimbursement…
