This Tuesday, July 29 we are calling for more clean energy @SierraDC , good jobs @unitehere23, and affordable housing guarantees in the RFK stadium deal! @WIN_DC @WashingtonDCPPC @DCFPI @FairBudgetDC taxpayer dollars must be used wisely, considering budget cuts

The @NFL & billionaire Josh Harris are using @Commanders fandom to create support for their taxpayer subsidies. At the same time, we're cutting social safety net, in hopes that our stadium investments will trickle-down to these same people in need? Not moral or innovative
🚨 BIG NEWS: The Council has reached a deal with the @Commanders! 🏈🏟️🏡 ✅ Team returning home to RFK with the largest private investment in DC history: $2.7 billion ✅ New homes for residents: 6,000 ✅ DC to receive parking revenue and sales taxes: $600 million ✅ Fields…
rain eatmon from houston speaking tonight at the public hearing on TX redistricting, saying the way republicans are prioritizing redistricting over flood recovery for central texas "really unsettles me to my core"
I thought THE PEOPLE voted you in, not corporations. Why are @Commanders getting handouts all while you attempt to gut TOPA rights and fight nominal and democratically approved increases to a tipped minimum wage. Truly disgusting …
And it should not be lost on anyone that next week the Council is also voting on a budget that rips away health care from *thousands* of low-income DC residents. If we’re cutting a big public check to a billionaire sports franchise, we have a duty to keep our people healthy too.
Maybe more improvements will come — see @ZacharyforWard5’s tweet. I really hope so, and the public deserves the right for their input to matter. It’s just alarming how many officials tried to pressure the Council to approve the original deal when a much better one was possible.
I believe, ultimately, a deal will be reached. But to be clear: today’s announcement is largely the Chairman’s deal — that members are still digesting. Conversations among members are ongoing.
The conflict of interest is off the charts. You representing the felon Donald Trump as his private lawyer. You, as Deputy AG should be nowhere near Maxwell. It’s not surprising that these meetings are closed.
These aren’t concessions, they’re playing a shell game withe the already agreed to amounts. As a DC taxpayer, we need more.
We need more. Guarantees that all jobs in and around the stadium are union. Revenue sharing. The budget of DC is under attack from Republicans in Congress and the 🍊🤡, we need this to help us, not just enrich his billionaire buddies.
For one, we’re comparing the nominal value of revenue raised over 30 years to an amount we’ll give to the Commanders. Second, there is zero reason to give the Commanders any land for development. They should bid on it against other partners.
CRAZY‼️ My House got Home Invaded Saturday While I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA all star game & instead of Focusing on finding the Suspects , they focus on some cannabis 1. So no I wasn’t busted 2. My house got robbed 3. I wasn’t home Long story short my…

NEW: RFK Stadium project vote scheduled for Friday, Aug. 1, D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson announces after reaching "much-improved agreement" with Commanders.
Powell’s doing more here to point out Trump’s lies in real time than nearly every reporter who interviews Trump.
Trump: It looks like it’s about $3.1 billion Powell: I’m not aware of that. Trump: It just came out Powell: You just added in a third building Trump: It’s a building that’s being built Powell: It was built five years ago.
Disengenuious to declare an agreement before public hearings !!!!!!!!! Shame.
Disengenuious to declare an agreement before public hearings !!!!!!!!! Shame.
this is totally inappropriate - the @MayorBowser office & @Commanders have to be in cahoots! Why is she giving away the store/hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars & then having paid fans cheer it on?
Director Hines and our amazing seniors joined Mayor Bowser ahead of the DC Council vote to support bringing the Commanders back to DC! Let’s support @MayorBowser bowser and this renewed investment to officially bring the Commanders home to Ward 7.
So not only do you force seniors to step down from the advisory committee that they formed, but you are using seniors to support the mayor’s agenda? Wow. Kinda wild. And clearly you don’t call to check up on seniors when they haven’t been in the senior center for months.
@MayorBowser touts jobs created and "small businesses" aided, but can those jobs afford the cost of living in D.C? Is there a guarantee that the contractors used on the project have to be certified small businesses? The answer to those questions? No.
