Curfews are an inadequate and ineffective remedy to youth behavioral issues, and places our city's young people into dangerous contact with law enforcement ill equipped to properly handle the matter. #DowntownDC needs proper policy in place to combat this issue, and quick.
I just signed into law a temporary expansion of the youth curfew—11PM across DC and 8PM in designated zones. I look forward to continuing to work with the @councilofdc to prioritize the safety of our city and the well-being of our young people.

When Democrats assault our brave law enforcement officers with their actions and rhetoric it encourages unstable people to go even further. We call on every elected official to insist that law enforcement MUST be treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
