The most annoying thing about this is no federal government revenue is going towards this renovation anyway! It all comes from the Federal Reserve’s own revenue sources, which the Treasury doesn’t get.
Trump: It looks like it’s about $3.1 billion Powell: I’m not aware of that. Trump: It just came out Powell: You just added in a third building Trump: It’s a building that’s being built Powell: It was built five years ago.
Interesting related point: The D.C. CFO says that all the tax breaks that @MayorBowser had negotiated with the Commanders (some of which Mendelson is reversing) would have cost D.C. $1.5 billion over 30 years and weren't financially necessary for the team.
Exciting news on Penn Station: through-running is on the table. Through-running trains would not only make the most use out of valuable space at Penn, it would create a regional system for transportation across the region. (Links at end)

NEWS: A proposed Republican spending bill includes a number of provisions impacting D.C. laws and programs. The bill would: - Repeal D.C.'s assisted suicide law. - Prohibit D.C. from using traffic cameras, or to ban rights turns on red. - Repeal non-citizen voting in D.C.
Back to the report, it raises some issues with D.C.'s commitment to the horizontal construction, as in preparing the site for the stadium to be built. The city says it will cost $500 million, but the report says cost overruns would also be borne by the city.
