Perhaps the most important point for all sides of psych drug safety&efficacy discourse:
"Can SSRI antidepressants affect the developing fetal brain?" Yes. "Should the public be warned about this?" Yes. "Should a specific patient take an SSRI during pregnancy?" This is a separate question. It requires compassionate care & counseling, & support for patient choices.
The moment someone uses the word wean to talk about stopping psych meds, you can almost guarantee they have no idea what they’re talking about.
