Waymo has become part of the LA landscape. You can see how parents would be much more comfortable with their kids taking a Waymo vs dealing with uber/taxi drivers. Many women will also prefer Waymo to human drivers (especially men) as well.
The anti-things getting better coalition is revving its engines
Roy is officially in?
clapped so hard we shook the camera @RoyCooperNC
The ultimate indictment of the #uncommitted movement: they voted for or encouraged others to support the guy that Bibi wanted in the WH. You literally cannot get dumber than that.
I really don't see how this is bad for the EU. They meet their security needs, have a buffer against Russian mischief on gas, and US consumers get stuck with a 15% tax increase that they won't be able to avoid b/c they can't substitute for EU goods.
EU will agree to buy 750 billion worth of energy from the US and hundreds billions more in weapons deals.
The simplest argument for Dems running against the GOP in 2026 and 2028: 'we will lower your cost of living by eliminating the Trump tariffs.'
What I worried about has happened. A completely unequal “deal” between the US and the EU. Have no doubt: asymmetric 15% tariffs are a EU defeat. When the law of the jungle prevails, the weak have little choice than to accept their fate. But Europe could potentially have been…
I think this assessment is right. I'd also argue that it's a good thing for the party. Voters are demanding more real fight from centrists and common sense policies and teamwork from leftists.
What the polls show, if you break out the data, is that Democratic voters themselves are responsible for Democrats' low approval ratings. They're angry, they think the country is in trouble, and they're frustrated at their own party's lack of power over the situation.
Good assessment here. EU made pragmatic choices and calculations and it will probably benefit them (if Trump sticks to anything).
The EU-US trade deal is here - it's probably not the end of uncertainty as the details are ironed out, but it's a momentous deal. In sum, it's a political defeat for the EU, but in economic terms I see it as, under the circumstances, a win of sorts. 🧵
What needs to change? The Dem Coalition sticking together, not buying media narratives and voting like mature adults in every election. There's a big onus on the left to be a real partner instead of a saboteur.
This is a great question to ask. As someone left of center, if you think the answer is the second one, think hard about what needs to change or accept you believe there is basically no chance of Democrats controlling the Senate and passing real laws for the next decade or so.
Now, do Fox.
This is so damning. Most of America’s biggest late-night hosts have become nothing more than hyper-partisan activist hacks for the Democrats - a party that’s rarely been more unpopular. No wonder Colbert got canned. More will follow.
American President raises taxes on Americans across a wide range of goods; European Union President announces tax cuts for Europeans across a narrow range of goods.
🚨🚨🚨The IDF is going to implement humanitarian pauses in the fighting in several population centers in Gaza starting Sunday morning and until Sunday evening to allow the UN and other aid organizations safe access for the delivery of aid, Israeli official tells me
Good stuff from Jeffries, especially reminding folks that Biden successfully negotiated a cease fire.
Statement on the Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza.
He's so f**king stupid but his apparatchiks operationalize this nonsense.
Trump-“I say two things to Europe. Stop the windmills. You fly around and you see these windmills everywhere, ruining your beautiful fields and valleys, killing your birds, and if they’re in the ocean, ruining your oceans.”
.....and yet Dems are clearly favored in the VA/NJ races this fall and are favorites in 2026 (which is why the GOP is scrambling to gerrymander red states).
New WSJ poll: The Democratic Party is 30 points under water with registered voters, considerably worse than the GOP (-11). wsj.com/politics/elect…
The notion of inaction by Biden/Harris ignorant. They forced aid in, focused on a cease fire while defending Israel from attacks by Iran/Houthis/Hezbollah. Bibi waited out the election cycle b/c he wanted Trump. Uncommitted played themselves.
The starvation crisis trajectory has been in a year in the making now. For a lot of people it was too sickening no one took actions to prevent it. I think voting out fascists is super super important. You have to persuade voters with empathy not disdain. And if they're not…
3️⃣He said the "scales of justice will be rebalanced" and that he would "restore fair, equal, and impartial justice." He stacked the Justice Department with loyalists who are defying court orders, overseeing deportations of American citizens, and hiding the truth about Trump’s…
2️⃣He said "instead of taxing our citizens to enrich other countries, we will tariff and tax foreign countries to enrich our citizens." He tariffed other countries and our citizens are paying the price.
