Government expenditure on #HS2 is around a **million pounds per hour, every hour**. #1million #TheOneMillionPoundsPerHourRailway With HS2 crowding out other projects, Midland Main Line electrification has been 'paused' again. #DejaVu #HistoryRepeating

Very worryingly a few minutes later Hendy repeats Over's garbage to @TransportCttee House of Lords @LordsEconCom tried to pin this down in 2015 but failed due to not being able to challenge the garbage /lies spouted by Higgins, Prout etc.
He wasn’t paid to have an opinion. Now he is defending future #HS2 by throwing past #HS2 under a ‘bus’. Will this cunning plan work?
This @greensignallers video uses HS2 Ltd video and talking points to claim #HS2 means "far more local and regional services". This is misinformation. This **cannot happen**, and needless to say, there is no sign of extra CRN trains being ordered to run these "far more" services.

No, you can't "get more trains through in the given amount of time". #ffs #DumbAs #DumbAss #UnbelievableIgnorance #HS2 #GetOverIt

What's the energy consumption of running ground transport at 600mph? Massive, I'd imagine. x.com/Rainmaker1973/…
China’s Maglev train just clocked 620 mph — that’s faster than most commercial airplanes. This isn’t sci-fi; it’s the next phase of ultra-high-speed travel. With magnetic levitation tech and zero physical contact with the tracks, the future of transportation is not just fast —…
A reminder that there are far more cost-effective ways of increasing rail capacity than squandering £100 billion on HS2. transportwatch.co.uk/2021/08/08/hs2… #HS2
The @MayorofGM's new 'Liverpool Manchester Railway'. A scheme so utterly dumb that even high speed rail lobbyist Jim Steer can't support it. #HS2

Mass migration is just fine, so long as migrants are housed in social housing, not hotels. #WorldAccordingToAndy x.com/AndyBurnhamGM/…
The best way to save billions from the benefits system? Launch the biggest council home building programme the UK has seen since the post-war years.👇🏻
Funny how Peter Hendy had nothing to say about #HS2 costs, or its specification, for **years**. Has he just woken up? #retarded #EnRetard x.com/Ogilvie_CJ/sta…
Daily Telegraph: 🙄 “HS2 is ‘too fast’, says rail minister. Lord Hendy criticises ‘zealotry’ behind plans for project’s 225mph trains” 🆓⬇️ telegraph.co.uk/gift/57130467e…
In Newcastle for the first time in years. A city in the process of rapid demographic change. It’s not unreasonable, xenophobic or backward-looking to ask: how has this happened so quickly; who authorised it; and where does it end?
The only underground platforms really needed at #Manchester Piccadilly would be for a #PiccVic-type connection to Victoria. That's nothing like what Andy Burnham is telling TfGM to do. x.com/AndyBurnhamGM/…
GM is growing fast. We will expand @BeeNetwork over the next decade to meet the needs of our bigger economy. BUT There’s a limit to what we can do on a congested surface. It’s why I am asking TfGM to start planning for an underground for GM around a remodelled Piccadilly.
Even in the year 2023/2024 #HS2 expenditure reached £8.56 billion, i.e. £0.977 million per hour. #OneMillionPoundsPerHour Even with the Mark Wild 'reset', it's likely to continue at this level for the foreseeable future, unless Keir #Starmer changes tack radically.

Inevitable given that HS2 is sucking up ever more cash annually for next few years and its 2nd division stablemate TRU takes whatever is left. Foolish though as it was a realisable project to get to Nottingham before next GE unlike EWR.
