Yet more barriers to accessible shopping for disabled and older people, courtesy of Tescos 😱 Perhaps they think we soon won’t have any money to go shopping anyway, relying wholly on food banks. Credit to @CrimeLdn for the alert.
It’s scandalous. Riding roughshod over the PSED & a miserable 21 days for the (sham) consultation. It’s a very tight timescale to mobilise the disabled community in opposition. My head is spinning from racing from one fight on removal of our rights, to the next ❗️
Lovely to have @MikScarlet and Diane here in Derby at the VIP event of our refurbished grade 2 listed Market Hall. Mik visited us way back in 2019 to help with our access audit and he delivered Disability Equality Training for colleagues working on the project xx

London buses 'failing disabled people' as wheelchairs denied entry over 400 times in a year @Doug_Paulley v FirstGroup Drivers have legal responsibility since 2017 to ask people to move out of the wheelchair space when a wheelchair user needs it mylondon.news/news/transport…
There is an absolute havoc at Abbey Wood because no screen is working and no announcements. And then the driver closed the doors on us but I screamed the driver reopened the door. @Se_Railway I know the screens are not yours and the havoc not your fault but it’s the second time…

If you find these chiller cabinets make it difficult or impossible to shop, please email equalityadvisoryservice.com They have the power to alert @EHRC of problems bc not everyone can take a case to court. #DisabledByTheSupermarkets
Feeling a bit deflated after the assisted dying debate, but this has cheered me up - over the years as a disabled parent and now a nan it’s been a nightmare finding accessible Santas. But just booked a trip on a Santa train and they have an accessible carriage @AmertonRailway
I remember being invited to @Fortnums after London 2012 and it was such a special experience. What a shame to see they’ve taken a step further back from equity rather than continuing to be front runners. We own a piece of the Eiffel Tower too, our medals are just as special!
Hi @Fortnums 👋 as you’re aware, the Olympic and Paralympic medalists were invited to Buckingham Palace yesterday. It would be nice to understand why you hosted an after party for the Olympic medalists but made the decision not to invite the Paralympic medalists? Why? 😅😅
I’m a wheelchair user in Paris for the #Paralympics2024 opening ceremony. The wheelchair viewing platform is entirely taken up by non-wheelchair users. “Welcome to Paris!” 🫠
@WeAreOpenreach so your contractors @WorldwideCass go on our property without asking, damage our fence and hedging and just leave it until we discovered it. Admitted it and eventually they tried to repair it after numerous chatbots, messages and yet told no compensation 🤔
So passport renewal time, but @PostOffice please make sure your reasonable adjustments are useable. Look at your alternative to the photo booth 😱😱 so what happened there then? @Christiane @MikScarlet @CarrieALightley

It should say Blue Badge Holders Only or Blue Badge Parking as that is what it is. Not stumbling around stabbing at euphemisms for disabled, which is the accepted term within the disabled community..
