ICE is wrecking our communities, kidnapping our friends and family, and devastating the lives of working class Angelenos. Our political class hasn't done enough to respond to the needs of tenants, immigrants, and workers. L.A. needs an eviction moratorium - NOW!

A frontline report from Gaza on a people forced to face death from starvation or being shot in a perilous quest to obtain meager rations — by @AbdSabbah91 who is himself struggling to fight the spreading famine dropsitenews.com/p/israeli-star…
Our teams in Gaza have again run out of food to cook. We have finished all the stock in hand, and our trucks are stuck at the border. We are continuing to bake bread and deliver water. But the people of Gaza still need a hot meal. Yesterday, we served 80,000+ meals—and we are…
My generation was taught Nazism was the greatest evil; and it was; and colonial crimes should've not been omitted. Today, a state starving millions/shooting children for sport, shielded by democracies & dictators alike, is the new abyss of cruelty. How will we survive this??

People are collapsing & dying from starvation in Gaza. Over the last 24 hours, 18 people have died as a result of famine, according to the ministry of health. Those who try to get food are gunned down by the Israeli military. At least 73 killed in aid massacres today. Genocide
My cousin Ali was killed today while waiting for food. He was 34 years old and a father of four. Look at how starvation had hollowed his face, drained his body. 💔💔💔 Rest in peace, Ali.
As we all mourn Benito, I wanted to share a glimpse of his brilliant refusal of state power published in one of our @ChallengeIneq articles in @Radical_Housing : radicalhousingjournal.org/wp-content/upl…

Benito Flores ¡PRESENTE!
The death of Benito Flores is social murder. Benito was an extraordinary thinker with an incisive analysis of state violence and who fearlessly asserted his rights in the face of such violence. Rest in power dearest Benito. May we all continue the housing justice you taught us.
A 70-year-old housing activist who seized a state-owned home in Los Angeles more than five years ago died this week after apparently falling from a 28-foot-high treehouse he built in the backyard in an attempt to block his eviction. latimes.com/homeless-housi…

Every day, he resisted the violence that determines who is allowed to live with dignity. Long live Benito the Reclaimer. Long live Benito the tree man
His death is not an isolated incident-it is the result of a brutal system that criminalizes the poor, the unhoused, the aging, and the disabled. May his legacy be a call to action. May his courage live on in all who continue the fight.
RIP BENITO “With deep love, respect, and admiration, we mourn the heartbreaking loss of our beloved Reclaimer, Benito Flores… We hold the Housing Authority of the City of LA (HACLA), Caltrans, & LASD responsible for Benito's unnecessary and preventable death.”
WHY am I just now learning about this legend?!! The state of California owns a house. They left it empty. Benito Flores, a 70- year old man w/ diabetes, on SSI and nowhere else to go, moved in. They’re trying to evict him. He’s not backing down—he built a treehouse.
