Thankfully retired journalist, CTV National News. Montréal/Québec/Ottawa/Moscow/Washington/Toronto/W5. I have some opinions now.
“Evolving public safety and security concerns” is code for we’re afraid the lunatic left will start smashing things again. nationalpost.com/opinion/bannin…
Trudeau’s legacy in a paragraph.
'Canada is vulnerable to political warfare via a lack of leadership, foreign interference, social media influencers and algorithms, corruption, elite capture, organized crime, lax police/immigration enforcement, and myopic government policy' nationalpost.com/opinion/canada…
Dream on. A two-state solution has never been more out of reach. The Liberals have lost all credibility on this issue and the very thought that we still have any influence over events in the region is laughable.
Today I spoke with Minister Gideon Saar. I underlined the urgent need for Israel to unblock humanitarian aid immediately, of which Canada has committed over $300 million, and to end the unnecessary humanitarian crisis in Gaza. I also reiterated Canada’s ongoing support for an…
Wasn’t the idea behind electing a calm, experienced technocrat to avoid this?
🚨BREAKING TRUMP REVEALS THERE IS NO DEAL WITH CANADA AHEAD OF AUG. 1ST DEADLINE "I think Canada will be one that just pays the tariffs" "when that letter goes out, they just pay. That's the deal.
Agree. The legal case was weak but that does not absolve the men of egregious, dehumanizing conduct.
The hockey players may be found not guilty of criminal acts based on a lack of evidence, but it doesn’t change the fact that they sexually abused the victim and treated her like a piece of ass and not a human being. The facts of the case show it clearly as day. Fuck them
In Liberal Land the only way to deal with terrorists is to reward them so they can attack again from a stronger position. Make no mistake, these are the same old Liberals.
With France moving forward to recognize the State of Palestine, Canada can and should do the same.
What do they say about justice delayed?

Interesting that he doesn’t condemn Hamas for rejecting yet another ceasefire proposal out of Qatar that would have allowed a surge in humanitarian aid. Like Trudeau before him, he’s more interested in placating his political base than doing the right thing.
Canada condemns the Israeli government’s failure to prevent the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian disaster in Gaza. Israel’s control of aid distribution must be replaced by comprehensive provision of humanitarian assistance led by international organizations. Many of these are…
The same guy, by the way, who recently called for “locking up” a Canadian journalist he disagreed with.
NEW FROM ME: Blog post by NDP leadership hopeful downplaying Rwandan genocide against the Tutsis sparks anger, joint statement by African-Canadian groups torontosun.com/news/national/…
How unusual.
This Ottawa career politician — part of the « elite » he claims to despise, in fact — is trying very, very hard to look like a rural Albertan.
Victoria BC. These boomers are the worst. I guess that makes me a self-hater.

FFS. “London West MPP Peggy Sattler sent out the press release moments before the verdict even started to be delivered, saying the verdict was ‘a rare moment of justice for survivors of gender-based and sexual violence’.” toronto.citynews.ca/2025/07/24/sta…
He's right. Carney is not acting with the sense of urgency he told us was necessary given the dire threat posed by Trump to the Canadian economy.
So Carney comes out of the Premiers’ meeting with no projects planned; no pipelines; no new mines; no new LNG plants. Nothing. More talk. No action. As Canadians get poorer.
Truth.
Re: Macron - I recently addressed the remarkable amnesia of France and other European nations about how they came to enjoy decades of peace (no, it was not by negotiating and empty gestures) and their bizarre determination to prevent our region from achieving a similar peace:
As @nspector4 has pointed out, this could spell trouble for Canadian artists with tour dates in the US if Trump gets wind of what’s happening. cbc.ca/news/canada/mo…
Well done, Carney Liberals.
Hamas and Israel were about to reach a ceasefire. Then 24 Western countries called on Israel to implement an immediate and thus unilateral ceasefire. Hamas, welcoming such implicit support, backed away from things it had agreed to. Just another example of the West prolonging the…
We can rightly be proud of what it once was but not of the hot mess it’s now become.
Universal healthcare is who we are as Canadians. It’s one of the things that sets us a part from the U.S. and we should be proud of that. Let’s keep it strong and make sure it serves everyone, in every region. It’s our heritage, our legacy and something we should all be proud of.
TBH I’d never heard of this guy until CBC started chasing the story like a dog after a bone. Why not just let him perform and let the audience decide if they want to hear him? Isn’t that how things work in Canada? cbc.ca/news/canada/no…
I think that’s a stretch. What you’re seeing here is standard meat and potatoes, albeit incurious, reporting. I’m just waiting to see similar court arrivals for keffiyeh-clad defendants facing similar recommended sentences. Not holding my breath, though.
CTV isn’t slightly appalled at 7 years for mischief + 1 extra for honking It’s almost like they don’t give a damn about Canadians anymore When media stops protecting citizens & starts amplifying state power, you don’t have journalism you have propaganda
