I am so excited about this announcement by @wesstreeting and @uklabour because it means two things have to happen to make it a reality. I’ll explain in a thread…
NHS staff are crying out for change. Labour has a plan to deliver it. Together, we will get the NHS back on its feet, so patients are treated on time again. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…
“Are you sure you're not one of us?” A🧵about doubt, graphs, and “overdiagnosis” I'm neurotypical, but like everyone else in the “COVID-conscious” community, I'm full of doubt, and I love a good graph. It's what unites us.
"This study challenges the prevailing narrative that COVID-19 poses minimal risk to younger populations" Our kids did not sign up to a future of poor health.

I wonder if these wards that were closed to visitors due to COVID outbreaks were also closed to all healthcare workers except those that wore legally mandated PPE against airborne pathogens? Or did they continue to follow the Ritchie doctrine re IPC?
Due to cases of COVID, wards 110 and 308 at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary are closed to all but ESSENTIAL visitors. Normal visiting applies in all other wards. If you are unwell, please do not visit relatives or friends in hospital.
Just a cold? Have a look at the tweet below…

🚨🔔 🚨🔔 🚨🔔 🚨🔔 🚨🔔 HSE are holding their AGM on 29th July. I have tabled 3 questions in advance. These may be of interest to healthcare workers - those still in service and those who were injured by Covid and can no longer work (or are limited as to what they can do).
I hope they realise at some point that this is exacerbated by not having the correct IPC in place. Covid is airborne, NHS Grampian and your staff need to be wearing FFP3 respirators as should visitors, in addition to improved ventilation & air filtration or URGUV.

‘Brain fog’ is the newly-invented cuddly term for dead brain cells. (I just thought knowing that might help you when you read the article in the @Independent which is linked in the tweet below…)
“Millions of people are suffering from brain fog. A new study will find out why” Here we go, I thought… 🙄 But it’s not the usual gaslighting BS. It actually suggests the possible mechanisms of biological damage caused by viruses, including Covid. 💥 independent.co.uk/news/health/lo…
You need to qualify what you have written. What filters were used? What ACH? Running continually in manual speed setting and checked to be so? Were they always deployed etc etc etc? Do you know because what you linked does not say? Put some details around your percentage.
For those interested in the cost effectiveness of Far-UVC, some remarkable analysis here- uvmedico.com/news/five-year… The quoted study found Far-UVC cost benefits 290x install costs in normal winters, 20,000:1 benefit ratio in pandemics. Original study here d-fine.com/en/news/reduci…
In this article by @DrGaryFuller UK study shows children's health will benefit from air filtration in schools: 👉80% air pollution PM2.5 is from outside 👉Shut windows will not stop PM2.5 entering classrooms 👉Air filters reduced pollution by 29% @sianberry @CleanAir4KidsUK

💼 Clean air in workplace means clearer thinking, fewer sick days, and a real boost in productivity. If the air in your workspace feels stuffy, it’s time to think about clean air solutions. Your team will thank you for it. The Blast in action at @thecsp #CleanAirAtWork
See below tweet - great work by @alco2024 If you want to send letters to politicians to ask them to provide clean air for kids in schools, template letters are at this link (letters are written for Bristol, but you can amend them)… @CleanAir4KidsUK cleanairforkids.co.uk/help-us
The sun is shining. I have had a coffee and a muffin and sent some emails to Bristol councillors to tell them about @CleanAir4KidsUK. A good start to the day. Now the boring tasks at home. Look forward to sending more emails at my next coffee break!😊 x.com/CleanAir4KidsU…

Young doctors in England are getting sicker - and fast. For decades the levels of sickness absence of NHS Staff were stable, until Covid infections arrived. Now, in all three of these groups, sickness absence rates have *more than doubled*. And they're STILL CLIMBING.
Hello @MattChorley @BBCHughPym following your suggestion on yesterday’s show that lockdowns caused the mental health problems with which many children are now suffering, what do you make of this study referenced in the tweet below?
From an observational study of 71 children (median age: 8.7 y/o) hospitalized for neurological manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 infection in France, "The most common neurological manifestations were encephalitis and meningoencephalitis (32%).. Brain imaging was abnormal in 68% of…
Correction: Yesterday I reposted this study before really digging into it and subsequently spread some unfounded data, bad me and sorry! After a night’s sleep and with the help of some respected followers, I need to correct myself! With thanks, @Mike_Honey_ ,@PJeffcock This…
