Beacon of Hope or Song of Sirens:Revisiting the Nature of South China Sea Arbitration Ruling scspi.org/en/dtfx/beacon…
La décision d'arbitrage entre la Chine et les Philippines, à propos de leurs différends en mer de Chine méridionale, a neuf ans. Comment est-elle reçue en Chine ? Réponse dans cet article ⬇️ scspi.org/en/dtfx/why-so…
It's all deliciously ironic. A nation like the Philippines that talks about UNCLOS and international law every day is territorializing its SCS claims in the #SouthChinaSea. news.usni.org/2025/07/13/phi…
"Given that disputes between China and the Philippines in the #SouthChinaSea have not been properly resolved, the likelihood of the two countries resolving their disputes through negotiation or judicial means in the short term appears minimal." scspi.org/en/dtfx/should…
Blocking the Strait of #Hormuz is a recipe for disaster, writes Zhihua Zheng. With its ruinous consequences and difficulty in execution, a full blockade by #Iran is unlikely, but the risks of miscalculation must not be ignored. scmp.com/opinion/asia-o…
"Foreign navies, by contrast, are severely curtailed in these waters," This is NOT True. In fact, every year, hundreds and thousands of extra-regional military vessels and aircraft freely operate in most parts of the #SouthChinaSea foreignpolicy.com/2025/07/17/sou…
Such operations are carried out by the US military thousands of times around China every year. Only when they attempt to enter Chinese airspace or endanger the safety of Chinese platforms will they be intercepted. Is the PLA being too restrained and too reasonable?

There is no need for confusion of concepts. This article argues that the ruling and the way the tribunal interprets UNCLOS constitute legal colonialism. It does not claim that UNCLOS itself is legal colonialism. scspi.org/en/dtfx/why-so…
On the 9th anniversary of the 2016 Arbitral Award re the #SouthChinaSea case btn 🇵🇭&🇨🇳, good to review the original findings and the how things have developed since then both at sea as well as with #UNCLOS & Int'l Law pca-cpa.org/news/pca-press… And contrast the the 🇨🇳 view, as…
Malaysia is considering a shift from static offshore to mobile offshore bases in East Sabah as it prioritizes mobility, deterrence, and rapid response. Tharishini Krishnan examines how mobile maritime platforms signal a strategic shift in Malaysia’s maritime security approach:…
1 Arbitration ruling was not neutral justice, 2 Reflected selective standards and legal colonialism, 3 True peace requires: Legal humility, Historical recognition,Inclusive frameworks.
"Rather than paving a path to peaceful settlement, the ruling has undermined the credibility of legal mechanisms under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), exacerbating regional tensions and entrenching mistrust." scspi.org/en/dtfx/why-so…
