The people's commission on water. The only true commission there is. Well worth signing.
Dear friends We are sharing this in case you want to sign to support the People's Commission on Water's key recommendations actionnetwork.org/forms/water-be…
I know who I would trust and it not to the left. What about you?
Left: Steve Reed, "Nationalising water companies would cost £100 billion, we'd have to take it from the NHS and Education, and it would take years of legal wrangling" Right: Feargal Sharkey explains how to nationalise water companies without costing the taxpayer a penny
Running rings round him.👏👏👏
"People are saying to 𝙮𝙤𝙪 it's unacceptable money - you can't say it back to them, you've got to act on it!" Environment Sec. @SteveReedMP agrees water bosses’ pay is outrageous, but what will 𝘩𝘦 do about it? @maitlis | @jonsopel
286,000+ people. Let's help @SOSWhitstable get past the mark.
Had enough of water industry greed? Our petition to return to public ownership has been signed by 286,000+ people. We'd love to get to 300k and then deliver it to @Keir_Starmer. If you could sign and share we would be grateful 🙏🏻 change.org/nationalise-wa…
🚿 Had your 4‑minute shower? 💧 Thames Water leaks 600 million litres every day — enough water for 150 million 4-minute showers. 📊 Watch the real‑time leak counter now: 👉 bit.ly/ThamesLeaks 🔁 It’s not on us. It’s on them. #ThamesLeaks #HosepipeBan #SpecialMeasuresNow
My new film will be shown at the Cambridge Rivers Of Film Festival on September 28th. The short version was shown at the @TheRiverSummit. It covers the beauty of freshwater fish and the damage pollution is doing. More details to follow on venue and timings. #freshwaterfish

When i first started filming underwater in rivers, 1989. Scenes like this only happened in extreme events, never came across sewage litter. Yet now, scenes like this are a common occurrence. Worse still every single river dive now results in seeing pollution. #pollution #sewage
So pollution in Scotland is now worse than England? 🤣 Time he went. Has no interest in the state of our rivers.
“I'm not going to focus on ideology." It would cost £100bn to nationalise water companies and the government would have to take that money from the NHS and education, Environment Secretary Steve Reed tells @krishgm
Pathetic response. Hardly surprises me. She would not take questions at the river summit.
Emma Hardy MP rules out completely the idea of nationalising the water sector in England and Wales. She tells Sky's Wilfred Frost that if she did so, she would "end up having a legal row with lots of water companies for the next few years"
Ultimately, at the heart of all rivers are the aquatic species that hardly get mentioned. Let's not ignore them. They are the ones fighting for their own survival yet constantly ignored. That needs to change. @BBCLookNorth #freshwaterfish #rivers #pollution
🚨 New report on water reform 🚨 Today’s “roadmap to rebuild trust” in the water sector echoes what we’ve said for years. gov.uk/government/new… 📢 We need: ✅ A single, accountable regulator ✅ Catchment-scale water management ✅ Genuine public and community involvement No…
Well worth reading this. It is the only commission I'd trust.
Cleaner, Cheaper, Fairer. Read the People's Commission on Water - which DID look at ownership models, international evidence and what it will take to conserve and protect our water. …oplescommissiononthewatersector.co.uk/reports
Oh, how beautiful our rivers are, that sweet, distinct smell of Sh1t when out by the river. #pollution #sewage #rivers.

Bang on with this.
In case you missed C4 news tonight..
Exactly.
So today I'm asked - what about the staff in those organisations you want to take into public ownership, and what about those creditors who you want to take a haircut? Well - 1. staff in the WCs all transfer into the publically owned organisation and 2. I am not going to feel…
Pathetic interview of @SteveReedMP on @bbclaurak just now. @BBCNews had my analysis vetted recently by their head of data in face2face grilling but let @DefraGovUK and @WaterUK go unchallenged.
2nd time of raining this week and low and behold, we are starting to turn blue as sewage enters yorkshires rivers. 👏👏👏 Yorkshire Water #sewage #pollution #environment

Truly is only one commission you should pay attention to, and it is this one. The peoples commission. The rest are smoke and mirrors
@BBCr4today This morning you interviewed an ex water company CEO and Rebecca Pow who lobbies for EIA. That is not balanced. The People's Commission on the Water Sector today provides its report with all the evidence that public ownership is cleaner, cheaper and fairer. You should…
I’m not saying there’s a problem with our waterways and nutrient levels here in the UK, but . . . . How about it @EnvAgency?
EA's report this morning is appalling over pollution incidents. At the very heart of this are the freshwater species that have to fight for their own survival. How we view and treat freshwater and its life needs to change. #pollution #environment #NatureBeauty
