How embarrassing can it possible be to say you are going to cut sewage dumping by 50% by 2030 only to realise that announcement had already been made by Ofwat over 1 year ago and that your new target is actually worse than the old one. OOPS!!!
Alongside @RiverActionUK, @fbunational, @sascampaigns, @We_OwnIt and more, we declare No Confidence in the Cunliffe Review's findings. Labour must now choose: stand with the public - or with the profiteers. Read 👇 compassonline.org.uk/statement-of-n…

Dear friends We are sharing this in case you want to sign to support the People's Commission on Water's key recommendations actionnetwork.org/forms/water-be…
Privatisation has turned our essential resource into a cash-cow for profiteers. The Government’s long-awaited reform won’t fix it. If you think everyone should have access to clean, accessible, public water, add your name: actionnetwork.org/forms/water-be…
Wasn't the bonus ban supposed to put an end to all of this nonsense? Oh?!
Exclusive: Twenty MPs have accused Southern Water CEO of ‘pure greed’ and urged him to refuse a pay hike that would take his salary to £1.4m “Decline this disgraceful payment for failure”.
"No wonder England’s water needs cleaning up – most sewage discharges aren’t even classified as pollution incidents." It's true actually, last year 4,327,415 hours worth of sewage was dumped into the environment and none of it was classified as pollution.…
Over 33 hours of sewage releases in Whitstable yesterday from @SouthernWater, due to too much rain. As that happened, they were implementing a hosepipe ban for one million people across the south-east due to not enough rain. What a brilliant system.

We could nationalise water for £20 – here’s how youtu.be/tnqPZNNx_rY?si… English water companies are financially broken. So why is Labour ruling out nationalisation? They say it would cost too much. That's wrong. It could cost less than a round of drinks.
"Mapped: The summer holiday beaches flooded with sewage. There are 139 coastal locations at which sewage has been released over past two days." The extraordinary world we now live in. Once upon a time in the run up to the school holidays newspapers would be full of the best…
England water bills will rise by a third to fund privatisation. People already paid. Companies didn't invest, paid £85bn in dividends. Customers to pay again for service they don't get. Companies raise capital from customers, shareholders take profits. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
How the private water companies operate: 🤑Rack up the debt 🤑Pay themselves billions 😡Make us pay for everything 💩Sod the infrastructure. They're the reason our water supply is in crisis! ❌Beefier regulation won't fix it. WE NEED PUBLIC OWNERSHIP NOW
The problem with this report, apart from having 88 recommendations which could take forever to implement, is that Sir John was stopped by the Govt from considering renationalisation, which the public would prefer! Plus, water bosses are still cheating us. bbc.co.uk/news/live/c4g8…
Water Commission review? Ill-conceived, selective, inaccurate and a generally shoddy approach to a very serious problem. We don't need tougher regulation, we need an industry without the motive to cheat, lie, and break the law to extract as much cash as it can.

“Roughly a third of your [water] bill goes towards debt servicing and paying dividends.” Water companies aren't providing the service being paid for, and are instead “shovelling” money to shareholders, says sewage campaigner and Save Windermere founder, @MattStaniek #TimesRadio
Had enough of water industry greed? Our petition to return to public ownership has been signed by 286,000+ people. We'd love to get to 300k and then deliver it to @Keir_Starmer. If you could sign and share we would be grateful 🙏🏻 change.org/nationalise-wa…
"£104bn of water industry investment will come from bill payers, environment secretary concedes." And there we finally have it, there is no "£104 billion of private sector investment". Question is how long has the SoS known this and why has he kept repeating that myth? Well…
Clean rivers campaigner, Professor Becky Malby, tells @AyshahTull she thinks the government's plans to reform the water sector will "make very little difference" as they are failing to consider public ownership of water companies. Read and watch here: channel4.com/news/we-cant-r…
