Yesterday, members of the SWO gathered in Oxford for the summer "SWOcial". Visits and organ explorations at Exeter College, Christ Church Cathedral and Magdalen College (picture of the 2023 Eule organ by Susan Gadd) were enjoyed by everyone.
Good morning to Emma Clarke and @BBCRadio3 Breakfasters. Very early start for church so not with you for long today but enjoying in the meantime.
Prosecco on our next door neighboursβ patio this evening (we supplied the bottle and snacks, they the glasses and shade), enjoying their still-colourful garden while catching up.
Just dded a couple of completed tasks to this weekβs To Do list, so I could tick them off - good for morale.
That moment when the rain sets in 5 minutes after husband has gone round to the newsagents without an umbrella. (It was fortunately a very brief shower.)
Sad to hear of the death of Dame Cleo Laine but grateful for all that she and John Dankworth gave us over the years. #RIP.
This evening on #BBCFour @theotimeviolin and @LeConsort gave us an incredible @bbcproms concert. Thanks to them and to @thekatiederham and @hannahcfrench for their presentation, an added bonus.
Recording #GardenersWorld this evening and watching a Prom, but will catch up eventually. Our sweet peas disliked the heatwave but are trying again, and the scent is gorgeous.

Gorgeous morning in London town. Blue skies prevail over Broadcasting House. A stack of Essential Classics prevails all morning @BBCRadio3. Join me from 9.30 for plenty of great music, some of which you may know, some that will intrigue you and surprise.
Strange hazy light at Salford Quays this morning. We're live from here with Breakfast on @bbcradio3 till 9.30 and a party of Long-tailed Tits were the stars of this morning's dawn chorus. Happy Friday!
A few quick games of swing ball last night before the torrential rain stopped play. In Breakfast on @bbcradio3 we started with a dawn of a Western Meadowlark out on the Wyoming prairie. And there's a question whether today's Bach Before 7 is even by Bach??? Come join us!
π Quiet, light, focus. The Reading Room is the heart of The London Library β where time slows, pages turn, and ideas begin to flow. For over 180 years, the Library and its collections have inspired writers and readers alike β from Virginia Woolf to Kazuo Ishiguro.
