A module on ‘general nursing’ or ‘ pre hospital care’ on the PA course and they become nurses and paramedics……I think this is how the PG diploma course works😂😂
🤣 RCN evidence: PAs must not replace nurses as they are not educated or trained to do so. However despite the fact that they are even less educated or trained to replace doctors we fully support that because doctors are bad people who we don't like.
Non of the broad sheets or the tabloid newspapers have covered the GMC case this weekend ….not even a summary. The Judge is looking for who gave the order to let PAs run amok in the NHS with no scope of practice …..are journalist now banned from informing the public on risk 🤷🏻♂️

In Court today !! This case affects everyone who uses GP services and the NHS. The GMC Registers BUT does not Regulate the non Doctor associates….big difference and opens up big RISKS. The wrong outcome could completely deregulate medical practice in UK! bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
Equivalence within health care is dangerous and confusing to both patients and staff and another area that needs challenging in Court.
And equally how some utterly *balk* at the idea of not even being an equivalent of the humble Foundation doctor - despite not having the training or quals to be that equivalent. It's a funny world to try and navigate.
New Zealand see an opportunity for Universities to cash in and plonk PA’s in under resourced rural communities rather than make those jobs extra attractive for doctors……seems a locked in trend 😬 rnz.co.nz/news/national/…
Under GMC …..good medical practice ….does this not require inclusion and sign off in the job plan / safe and ethical care section…..🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I think a lot of enabling consultants in managerial roles worked on the premise that it’d just be the day to day supervising doctors who’d take the flack. That’s how the Aug 2024 scope tried to set it up, which was also written with Kings IIRC.
So much more could be done: 1 More Emergency Physicians based in Community treatment/ diagnostic and urgent care centres 2 Emergency Physicians based with EVERY ambulance service to treat more patients at home and 3 More hospital beds…..that’s a start!! bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
