Honored to write about addressing mental health effects of historical and contemporary racism through Black-led grassroots community healing efforts, including @TheABPsi Sawubona Healing Circles. Every circle is a reminder: “We are each other’s medicine.” psycnet.apa.org/record/2026-27…

My partner, working in healthcare, has told me many immigrants had already been struggling to find work. Now, ppl are losing people they live with to ICE abductions, & ppl are staying away from work. As a comrade reminded—many more tenants now can't afford rent. No Evictions!
ICE is wrecking our communities, kidnapping our friends and family, and devastating the lives of working class Angelenos. Our political class hasn't done enough to respond to the needs of tenants, immigrants, and workers. L.A. needs an eviction moratorium - NOW!
For the @Parapraxis_Mag resistance issue I wrote about the lines of flight forged by some of the most important revolutionaries of our time. Among other things, this piece is my perspective on Black-Palestinian solidarity
just finished this world of a book from @m7mdkurd, and i can say without shame that i was brought to tears multiple times. Kurd's writing is unapologetic and visceral in his call to be non-conciliatory for the cause. A must read for everyone

On Feb. 19, Will McNeil Jr. was pulled over in Jacksonville, FL, reportedly for driving without headlights. A viral video shows officers breaking his window and striking him. He says he suffered a concussion, 9+ stitches, and memory loss.
NEW: Right-wing media is downplaying the harms of Trump's class war bill even as its disastrous effects emerge across the country. Food banks are panicking, hospitals are putting new projects & hires on hold, at least one clinic has closed. (Link below)
Food banks across the country were already straining under rising demand. Now, they worry many more Americans will go hungry. 🔗 on.wsj.com/3GGeSlA
14 million children in the US are hungry. Instead of feeding our children, our tax dollars are going to starving Gaza’s children. The siege and blockade of Gaza would not be possible if you weren’t paying it. We have to fight for a world that is not this evil and cruel.
Our current campaign for @sameerproject has now raised $6,050 🌿 Please keep sharing and contributing 💞 We'd love to reach $10k as soon as possible. Anyone who wants to offer a match, reach out! …n-books-a-poem-emporium.myshopify.com/products/w4g-u…
The contributions keep coming! As of this morning, we've raised a total of $4,475! We'd love to hit $5k by the end of the weekend 🌿 Another couple of $1k matches and we could get to our $10k goal in no time 💞 …n-books-a-poem-emporium.myshopify.com/products/w4g-u…
Israel imposed its total siege in Oct ‘23. US cut UNRWA funding in Jan ‘24. The fact that 2 million are starving now was not only foreseeable, it was deliberately planned and executed. Obfuscating this is genocide denial
ABC, NBC, CBS News ran token reports on Gaza starvation yesterday and had all the tropes: -“Hamas-run health ministry” -Centering Israeli denials -Framing it as the unfortunate result of a new “military offensive” -Zero mention of open Israeli starvation and de-population plans
“We are at a moment right now where people are asking themselves why can’t the Democratic Party defend this assault on democracy . . . and I would submit to you that if you can’t draw the line at genocide, you probably can’t draw the line at democracy.” - Ta-Nehisi Coates
People are watching a system that is using mass starvation on tens of thousands of children in Gaza while severely punishing those protesting it and leadership of the nominally liberal party say absolutely nothing about it or openly cheerleads it.
BREAKING: Columbia University has announced mass sanctions on nearly 80 pro-Palestine protesters — they have been suspended for 1 to 3 years or expelled from Columbia for joining a protest at the university's Butler Library in May this year, according to Columbia University…
the suspensions are from this action btw. where columbia public safety tried gouging the eyes out of a palestinian student who was recording the events inside.
I was choked and going in and out of consciousness after the arrest. One of them kept trying to gouge my eyes. They slammed my head into the floor multiple times. It literally felt like I was getting jumped.
Among the 80 students suspended or expelled from Columbia are 5 SWC members, who will soon lose both their jobs and healthcare. Once again, Columbia chooses to support war and Trump admin over its own students and workers. It's up to us, not the bosses, to defend our community.
OFFICIAL CUAD PRESS RELEASE: In a historic first, Columbia has suspended nearly 80 students for participating in a teach-in honoring Basel al-Araj. The announcement comes just ahead of the University's deal with the Trump administration and the Anti-Defamation League.

The extent to which the Trump Administration acted on tips from pro-Israel groups to target pro-Palestinian students is a major pillar of a new federal case. The reports made for students like Mouhamed Khalil were shown in open court for the first time. nyer.cm/XYPXGCY
For decades, protesters at Columbia have unsuccessfully pushed for divestment from Israel and weapons manufacturers. The Eye’s investigation takes an inside look at the April 2024 negotiation room and traces the protest movement since 2002. l8r.it/kRMg
