Neuroscientist and neuroengineer building the world’s highest performing brain-computer interfaces to restore speech and language @UCDavis Neuroprosthetics Lab.
This four minute video does a wonderful job conveying how important this technology can be for people living with paralysis: youtube.com/watch?v=thPhBD…
5 years ago, I shifted my research from restoring reach and grasp to restoring speech. My hunch was that with intracortical electrodes — which previously enabled fast cursor/arm control — we could accurately decode attempted speech. Today we've delivered. So proud of our team! 👇
EPFL faculty positions are the best in the world, bar none. Excellent students, beautiful location, and stable funding (like having HHMI from day 1, forever if you get tenure). Would encourage my U.S. junior colleagues who may not be aware to take a close look. 👇
We are happy to announce an opening for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor Faculty Position in Neuroscience at EPFL. Join our groups working on cellular & circuit neuroscience & neurocomputation - go.epfl.ch/brain. Deadline Oct 1 2025, Apply now - go.epfl.ch/neurofaculty
Nudge is also recruiting for trials in tinnitus and chronic pain if you or someone you know wants to contribute to research and get bragging rights as an early experiencer of TUS nudge.com/studies/
Half the world will experience a brain disorder in their lifetime. At @nudge, we're building brain interfaces that are safe, precise, and non-invasive to solve that problem. We've raised a $100M Series A led by @ThriveCapital and Greenoaks to go faster. We're hiring. Join us.
(1/8) Excited to share our new paper in Cell Reports, led by grad student @RangwaniRohit ! 🧠🤖 We show that robust #BrainMachineInterface (#BMI) control is possible using #cerebellar activity- even in a #stroke-affected brain. doi.org/10.1016/j.celr…
Announcement 📢 We're hiring at @SophontAI for a variety of positions! We're looking for exceptional, high-agency ML research scientists/engineers who are passionate about using AI to build the future of healthcare. Check our website for more details (link in 2nd tweet)
we're recruiting for a scientist to join our Talent team @newlimit this is a unique chance for a scientist to move into the business & ops side of biotech. we imagine recent PhDs & postdocs looking to transition away from the bench are great candidates. you'll be working very…
Postdoctoral fellow Nick Card was awarded the @BWFUND 2025 Career Awards at the Scientific Interface (CASI) that supports early career researchers at the intersection of biology and the physical, computational and mathematical sciences. Congratulations @NS_Card!
I'm really excited to receive the BWF CASI! This award will help support me as I continue to develop BCIs that restore communication. Congratulations to the other recipients as well!
So proud of UCD Neuroprosthetics Lab Postdoc @NS_Card for receiving the BWF Career Award at the Scientific Interface! 🥳 This will see him through the rest of his time with us and seed his own future lab 💫. Congrats to all the CASI winners 👏👏

Check out the new @Nature Research Briefings article “Brain implant decodes neural activity to produce expressive speech” which summarizes our recent voice-synthesis neuroprosthesis paper. It also gives a sneak peek into the story behind this paper. doi.org/10.1038/d41586…
Our brain-to-voice synthesis brain-computer interface paper was published in @Nature today! This neuroprosthesis synthesized the voice of a man with ALS instantaneously, enabling him to ‘speak’ flexibly and modulate the prosody of his BCI-voice. 1/7 Paper: rdcu.be/eqH3C

Another new job alert! We're hiring a Manufacturing Engineer. I told you it was coming soon. 😉 🔗 [Forest's Website]/jobs
🚨 Forest Neurotech is hiring across domains and levels! 🚨 We just added a Hardware Test Engineer role and have open roles for SWEs and EEs. More coming soon. If you (or someone you know) is mission driven, high IQ, and low ego, let's talk!
Years of #BRAINInitiative research on monitoring brain circuits led to a brain-computer-interface to enable a man with #ALS to speak and even sing again. Amazing! But this is just the beginning of advances to come from neural circuit science . nature.com/articles/d4158…
